Was die Entwickler zu sagen haben:

Wozu Early Access?

„Dragonwynde is made by one person, and the work that's left is exactly the work that players should shape: the world itself.

The flying is built. It's been tested by strangers, and it holds up. What I don't know is where people go when you hand them a mountain and a pair of wings, what they come back to, what they ignore, and what they wish were there. I would rather learn that from people who are actually playing than guess at it alone for another year and then find out I guessed wrong.

Early Access is how I find out. It also lets me build this at the pace it deserves instead of the pace a deadline demands.“

Wie lange wird dieses Spiel ungefähr den Early Access-Status haben?

„Longer than is fashionable. My honest estimate is probably a year, maybe more.

I would rather reach 1.0 when the game is what it should be than hit a date I announced before I knew what it would take. If that estimate changes, I'll change it here.“

Wie soll sich die Vollversion von der Early Access-Version unterscheiden?

„More life in the world, and more dragon.

The whole world is open from day one — nothing is fenced off. What I won't promise yet is that every corner has something in it. The full version fills the map: the hand-built places, and the life, that make crossing it worth the flight.

Wildlife is the largest single addition: a world that notices a dragon passing through it, rather than a beautiful empty one.

And the hatchling keeps growing. Early Access begins that arc; the full version carries it to the end.

Beyond that, I'd rather build what players actually ask for than publish a feature list now and spend a year padding it out. That's most of the reason this is in Early Access at all.“

Was ist der derzeitige Stand der Early Access-Version?

„The core is not a prototype.

You can belly-slide, glide, fly, hover, walk, run and jump. You can barrel roll, loop, corkscrew, flip onto your back and dive away backwards, and turn knife-edge through a gorge. You can dive into the water, swim, breach like a dolphin, skim the surface at speed and keep flying underneath it. The mountain is sculpted by hand, with forests, meadows, cliffs, stone arches, lakes, rivers and an ocean to the west. Day turns to night, weather moves through, there's music, and a controller works.

Twenty outside testers put almost twenty hours into an early build that had no goals in it at all — no score, no objectives, no progression. The median player stayed for more than half an hour, longest session lasted nearly three hours. Not one of their complaints was about the flying.

What Early Access adds first is reasons to go places: things worth finding in a world that is already all yours to reach.“

Wird dieses Spiel während und nach Early Access unterschiedlich viel kosten?

„The price will most likely rise as the game grows. Buying during Early Access should be the cheapest Dragonwynde ever is.“

Wie werden Sie versuchen die Community in den Entwicklungsprozess miteinzubeziehen?

„By reading everything and actually changing things.

This isn't hypothetical: a closed round of outside testers in September 2026 redirected the game inside a week. One tester's feedback is the reason the demo has a shape at all. Another's is the reason controllers are supported.

I'll keep doing that in the open: post what I'm working on, ask when I'm genuinely unsure, and say plainly when I disagree. I'd rather be honest about what I'm not going to build than quietly ignore a request.

The best place to talk is right here in the Steam discussions, I read them. I also post along the way on YouTube, Instagram and Facebook; feel free to join the discussion wherever suits you. It's fine to disagree. Let's keep the conversation constructive.“

Infos zum Spiel

Finally, a game where you just get to BE a dragon.

You're not the rider. You're the hatchling, too small to fly, too stubborn not to try. So you do what any sensible dragon child would do: you climb the mountain and throw yourself down it on your belly, again and again, gliding a little further every single time. Until you master your wings.

The learning curve of the game IS the story of the game. When you finally fly, it won't feel like a menu unlocked it. It'll feel like you earned your wings.

A world built by hand

One vast, 1,800 km² world, sculpted by hand, every forest painted with a brush, every river routed on purpose. Mountains, meadows, cliffs, stone arches, cold lakes, rushing water, and an ocean off to the west with islands standing out in it, where the light goes at the end of the day. Weather rolls through. Night falls and the sky fills with stars. Nothing here exists just to fill a map.

Water that deserves the name

Dive into it. Swim in it. Breach out of it like a dolphin, skim across it fast enough to leave a wake. Go under and keep flying — underwater is just another kind of sky. Falling in a lake is not a failure state. It's the best thing that can happen to you.

No combat. No death. No time pressure.

Nothing in this world is trying to kill you, and you can't kill anything either. There is no health bar to watch and no clock to beat. The mountain doesn't care how long you take.

Learn to fly properly

Belly-slides become glides. Glides become flight. Flight becomes barrel rolls, loops, corkscrews, knife-edge turns through a gorge, and a hover steady enough to set yourself down on a ledge you picked out from a kilometre up.

Berries, and what they do to you

Scattered through the world are berries worth going out of your way for. Eat enough of them and you grow: longer wings, longer breath, more sky in you than there was yesterday. Nobody hands you a skill tree. You grow into what you can do, and one day you notice you can reach a ledge that used to be impossible.

Built by one person, slowly

Dragonwynde is being built in Godot by one Finnish carpenter with an unreasonable fondness for dragons, mountains and places worth getting lost in. Every corner of its world is shaped with the same idea in mind: it should feel worth flying over, and worth landing in. Building a world this large this way may be slightly unreasonable — but then again, dragons need room to fly.

Offenlegung von KI-generierten Inhalten

Der Spieleentwickler beschreibt den Einsatz von KI-generierten Inhalten in diesem Spiel wie folgt:

Generative AI tools were used in parts of the developer's workflow: some texture source images (such as water splash sprites and certain ground materials) originate from AI image tools, and the dragon character's base mesh was initially created with AI assistance. All of this content was then extensively hand-edited, sculpted, rigged and integrated by the developer. Some music tracks were generated with Suno (licensed under a paid subscription). The world itself, the environment models and the game's art direction are hand-made. The game does not generate any content at runtime.
