Appraise cursed objects in a Japanese horror pawnshop sim. Five tools examine the object itself, and what you find is your evidence. Call an item cursed and take it in: right, and it becomes a vessel for the final night; wrong, and you are stuck with junk you overpaid for. The call is always yours.

About This Game

Find the cursed objects hidden among your customers' belongings. The call is yours.

In a night district that still carries the atmosphere of old Japan, you inherit Hyakume Pawnshop from your missing uncle, Gensai Katori. You have three months to prepare 100,000 yen. The items brought through the door, however, include counterfeits, damaged antiques, and cursed objects that prey upon their owners.

Appraisal means measuring the object

Each of the five tools examines the item itself. What you find is the evidence.

  • Magnifying Glass — Magnify the surface and hunt for flaws. A miss still reports the distance to the nearest one. The number of flaws you find is the condition. But a cursed piece carries one mark that is not a flaw
  • Antique Ledger — Compare the item's stamp against the records, character by character. No matching record means a forgery
  • Spirit Mirror — Measure the residual reading and decide which band of the reference table it falls into. Only cursed things ring in the resonance band — though a quiet reading is no guarantee of safety
  • Incense Board — Draw the scent still clinging to the item and judge whether it comes from the material, from storage, or is something that belongs to neither
  • Seal Verifier — Compare the clay, the cord marks, and the wear against an intact reference. A single mismatch means the seal has been broken

Different objects reveal themselves to different tools. Some curses never show in the mirror.

Cursed, or ordinary — make the call

If you believe an item is cursed, you can say so and take it in.

  • Right — it stays with you as a vessel, usable once after closing. On the night of the full moon, only the objects you kept can break the barrier of the Hundred-Eyed Devourer
  • Wrong — you are holding an antique nobody wants, and it moves for 35% of what you paid

Reselling a curse turns a profit but erodes your sanity. Buy, refuse, or claim it as cursed — that judgment is the work of this shop.

The closing report reveals the truth of everything: what you bought and what you turned away. Whether you saw it, missed it, or wisely let it go.

The nights you choose add up

Four moments ask whether you press forward or hold the line. Your drift shows in the ledger each night and changes how the black market prices you, how well you are warded, and how far you can push a negotiation. And over twenty-one nights, your uncle's ledger reveals whose name is written in the column marked "next."

More than one run

  • Three difficulty tiers — Normal, Hard, and a Very Hard tier unlocked by the true ending
  • A hidden second-loop boss — Clear the game once and a second form waits on the final night
  • Endless Trade — Unlocked by the true ending. A tribute falls due every seventh night, and it never stops growing
