Malvinas (Falklands), 1982, from the Argentine cockpit. A pixel-art arcade flight game based on real sorties: bombs that often didn't explode, fuel that never quite lasted, Harriers on the hunt and an unforgiving radar. Fly low, drop on time and come back.

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Rasante is made by one person. Flying, combat and the first real missions are already playable, and I want feedback from players on how it feels to fly and fight before I finish the story campaign. Early Access lets me tune controls, difficulty and pacing with real players while I complete the 14-mission campaign, "El cuaderno de Mateo". I'm committed to keep working on the game until the full campaign is released.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“About 3 months, which is how long I expect the story campaign to take.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version adds the complete story campaign, "El cuaderno de Mateo": 14 missions with story scenes between them, the hangar, the mechanics and Mateo's letters from the islands. It will also add more real sorties to the Flight Log, plus all the fixes and tuning that come from player feedback.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Playable now:
- Flight Log (Story mode): 5 real sorties from May 1982 (HMS Sheffield, HMS Glasgow, HMS Ardent, HMS Plymouth and the 30 May attack on the carrier group). Each one starts with the historical context, lets you choose the real aircraft with its real load (Super Étendard, A-4 Skyhawk in several versions, Dagger) and ends by telling what really happened.
- Quick Play: POR LA PATRIA (endless run for score) and CICLO DE MUERTE (random objectives with rising difficulty).
- The full flight system: low-level flying, cannon, bombs that may not arm, fuel and in-flight refueling, radar, Sea Harriers and ship defenses.
- Keyboard, mouse and gamepad (PlayStation / Xbox). Spanish and English.
Not available yet: the story campaign "El cuaderno de Mateo", which shows as locked in the menu. The campaign features described in "About This Game" arrive with the full version.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Pricing will be confirmed before release. Whatever the final price is, it will not increase when the game leaves Early Access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I read every comment. The Steam discussion forums for Rasante are the main channel for bug reports and for feedback on controls, difficulty and which real sorties to add next. That feedback will directly decide how flight and difficulty are tuned, which Flight Log missions come next and what gets fixed first. I'll post updates through Steam news explaining what changed and why.”

About This Game

One goal: fly low and come back.

April 1982. Esteban, "Tero", joins the Fieles de Plata, a squadron of A-4s about to take on the British fleet at sea level. Across the water, in a foxhole on the islands, is his son Mateo.

Our version

The Fieles de Plata are a fictional squadron flying through real events. Between missions there's the hangar, the mate, the mechanics patching up the planes, and the letters from a soldier on the islands. The war told by those who flew out, and by those waiting for them to come back.

Rasante is a pixel-art arcade flight game that tells the story of the Falklands War from the cockpit: missions based on real events, dates and fleets, and a story about those who fly out and those who wait for them to return.

Every mission is built on real information: the dates, the ships, the aircraft, the weapons and the conditions they flew in. As you play, you'll understand why they had to fly right on top of the water, why so many bombs hit and didn't explode, and how much every sortie depended on the fuel that was left.

What you'll learn by playing

  • How to fly low. That's how the pilots hid from British radar. Climb, and they see you.

  • That radar shows no mercy. Every alarm sends Harriers after you, and the only way to lose them is to drop back down and hold on.

  • That the fuel wasn't enough. Without the Hercules tanker refueling you in mid-air, there's no way there and no way back.

  • That bombs didn't always explode. Dropped too low, they didn't have time to arm, a real problem in 1982. You'll miss, go around for another pass, and sometimes you'll hit and it won't go off.

Features

  • 14 campaign missions (coming with the full version)

  • Historically accurate fleets, aircraft, weapons, missiles and events.

  • Story scenes between missions, with hangar humor and moments that hit hard.

  • Mateo's letters from the islands tell a completely different reality that only those who were there lived through.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

Rasante uses AI in part of its content. The story scene illustrations, character portraits and backgrounds were created with image generation tools; some cinematics with video generation; and the music with audio generation. All of that material was directed, selected and adjusted for the game by its author. The story, dialogue, song lyrics, characters and game design are human work, based on research into the 1982 Malvinas/Falklands War: most of the events, dates, weapons, aircraft and ships in the game are real. The characters are fictional. The game does not generate any AI content during play.
