About This Game

ONE STEP WAR is a lightweight tactical board game with a clean, modern minimalist style.

Battles take place across a variety of board layouts. Each turn revolves around one important decision: move a single piece, or command your entire force to move together.

Every unit follows its own movement rules, attack patterns, and tactical functions. Soldiers, guards, rams, cannons, and other pieces each serve a different purpose, but victory depends less on individual strength and more on how you sequence your actions and turn limited moves into decisive advantages.

The game features multiple modes:

• Standard Battles: Fight opponents using the full tactical ruleset.

• Campaign Puzzles: Solve carefully designed scenarios with limited actions and specific battlefield conditions.

• Roguelite Expeditions: Progress through a series of battles, make randomized choices, and gradually strengthen your force.

The rules are easy to understand, but every move can reshape the entire board.

Read enemy threats, plan your action order, use pushing, blocking, terrain, and unit abilities to create openings, and try to win with as few actions as possible.

In ONE STEP WAR, you do not need to manage a long chain of complicated commands.

You only need to decide which move matters most.
