Grow one shared tree

Branchbound is a compact abstract strategy duel about a luminous tree both players are trying to keep alive.

One simple rule. Sharp decisions.

Each turn, choose an open node, extend a branch in one of eight directions, and set the new signal's colour. It may not repeat the colour of any neighbour. Verify a legal move to pass the turn; verify an echo and the branch breaks immediately.

A small field, a mathematical core

At its core, Branchbound combines a growing rooted tree with local graph colouring: every legal move extends the tree while preserving the neighbourhood colour constraint. It is inspired by finite-tree and graph-colouring problems; it does not compute Busy Beaver or TREE(3).

Pre-generated key art, store and marketing artwork, and two music loops were created with generative AI tools, then selected, edited, and reviewed by the developer.
