Every kingdom begins with a letter. A cozy fantasy incremental: the crown asks, and you fill each request by hand — chopping, smelting, building, hiring and carrying every armful yourself. No fail states, no deadlines, nothing ever lost.

About This Game

The worst posting in the kingdom

You are the newest and least important person at court, so you drew the worst posting in the kingdom: an empty clearing two days from the castle, with instructions to establish a supply post. You get a cart and a map. Nobody sees you off.

The castle stays there on the horizon for the whole game. The only road back is the work.

The crown makes its requests. You fill them.

A courier rides in with a letter, and Odo — the toad who has held this post for eleven years, and who does not work — reads it out. Wood and stone, at first. Planks and squared stone after that. By the end it is gilded cuirasses and jewelry for the king's table.

Ten letters. The last one is the ending.

Everything is a real thing, and you carry it

There is no shared pot of materials. Every log, bar and plank is a physical object lying where it was made, and every purchase is two moves: order it at the counter, which costs nothing and only says what that counter is now waiting for, then walk the materials over, an armful at a time.

Your satchel is the bottleneck of the entire game, and every upgrade to it is felt in your hands.

Put the camp where you want it

Choose a building and set it down on any open ground — before you can afford it. An unbuilt site is not a failure, it is somewhere for the next armful to go. Learn recipes at the tinker's stall, hire hands at the tavern to work the benches faster, and let a clearing turn into a working camp: smoke at the forge, the saw running, twenty people standing where there was grass.

Cozy, and it means it

  • No enemies, no combat, no fail states, no deadlines.
  • No prestige and no resets. One camp, one save, one continuous run from the first pine tree to the summons home.
  • Nothing is produced while you are away — and nothing is lost either. The camp is waiting exactly as you left it.
  • Coming up short is never a failure. What you brought is kept, and the rest simply waits.

In the camp

  • One screen that never changes and never stops growing — no map to cross, no loading between anything.
  • Nearly forty materials, from a pine log to steel seamed with crystal.
  • Around thirty recipes to learn, each one feeding the next: raw material, refined material, and finally the thing the crown actually asked for.
  • Workshops to raise, workers to hire, and dozens of upgrades to order.
  • Ten royal requests, told in letters, with a real ending.
  • Pixel art, a soundtrack to leave running, and autosave.
  • Fourteen languages.
