The Reflecting Pool in Washington has gone green. You are the U.S. POOL FORCE: a pressure washer, a vacuum and up to three friends in online co-op. Spray the hotdog queue away until the stand closes, because they're eating the dogs. Grump takes the credit for everything you do.

About This Game

Storm clouds over the Capitol, sirens, fighter jets. A goose lands in slow motion. The eagle badge slams in: U.S. POOL FORCE.

NARRATOR: One force. One mission. One hero.

The hangar doors open on you, alone, with a washer and a vacuum. A record scratch, and the music stops.

NARRATOR: ...Clean the pool.

Make The Pool Blue Again is a first-person co-op comedy pressure-washing game for 1 to 4 players. The whole game is one place, the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool in Washington. It has gone green, and you clean it in five sectors.

Grump

Grump lives on the video walls. He shouts at you, praises himself, makes deals with geese and takes the credit for everything you do.

GRUMP: Do you own a suit?

Make no progress for a minute:
GRUMP: I see you doing nothing.
Another minute:
GRUMP: You're fired!
Another minute:
GRUMP: You're rehired. Nobody else applied.

The eleven missions

Between the cleaning come eleven missions built on the political and internet memes everyone knows. The mission list is titled CONCEPT OF A PLAN.

They're Eating the Dogs
Close the hotdog stand: spray the queue with wide. Every customer eats in view and throws a wrapper, a mustard cup or half a hotdog into the pool.
GRUMP: They're eating the dogs! Look at them! They're eating the dogs!

Six Seven
At 67%, every video wall flashes 67. When a player looks at a wall, Grump and every character in view do the 6-7 gesture. That includes Boden, who does it in his sleep.
GRUMP: SIX SEVEN! SIX SEVEN!

Storm Area 5.1
Protect Area 5.1: hold the runners back with wide. About 40 people come running, carrying trash bags.
GRUMP: You need to protect Area 5.1!
CROWD: They can't stop all of us!

The cast

Sleepy Boden: the lifeguard, asleep in his high chair. Spray him.
BODEN: Will you shut up, man.

Bernie Sandals: the old senator in his folding chair, with mittens.
BERNIE: I'm once again asking for my mittens.

The Ice Cream Agents patrol from Hotdog Row, grab a player and freeze them for three seconds. Wide keeps them away, and teammates spray each other free.
AGENT: FREEZE!

Cleaning

You have the vacuum for trash and a washer with three nozzles, each with one job. Wide for people, medium for algae, jet for hard stuff and geese. Targeted dirt glows to show the right nozzle. A sector is DONE at 95%. The leftover spots flash from 90%. Nothing ever requires 100%.

THE GRUMP STORE

The Grump Store truck follows you with new stock after every sector and sells 11 upgrades, among them the Suit, the Golf Cart, Freedom Bleach and The Big Beautiful Washer.
GRUMP: I could buy everything here with a small loan of a million dollars.
GRUMP: You don't have the cards.

GRUMP STUDIO

Grump Studio is a painting game on the water. Among the motifs: the Grump portrait, a hotdog and the Doge dog. Every painting scores 0 to 3 stars, and every motif has its own Steam leaderboard.

Co-op for 1 to 4

Play alone or with up to three friends online. Friends can drop in and out at any time. Crowds and agents scale with the crew; the dirt does not.

Streamers are safe. The music never triggers a claim, and names and invite codes hide in Streamer mode.
