Many players wanted to see more of the classic spirit return to the game. We decided to bring back two beloved gameplay ideas—with new characters, a fresh presentation, and a little mystery of our own.

Meet two masters from the city’s forgotten past:

• The Illusionist can exchange their entire hand with another player or discard unwanted District cards and draw new ones. Your carefully prepared plans may not remain yours for long.

• The City Planner draws two additional District cards and may build up to three Districts in a single turn. Give them enough gold, and an empty street can become a city overnight.

Legacy of the Old City introduces new opportunities for deception, rapid expansion, and unexpected reversals. Familiar mechanics return in a new form—but the city may not remember them exactly as you do.
