About This Game

Thank you for joining Mutual Occult Insurance, the nation's only carrier for damages of unexplained origin. Your assignment as a field agent is clear: attend the loss site and assess the claim. Fire. Flooding. Vandalism. Accidents happen, and so does fraud. Establish with your team whether the supernatural is genuinely at fault, and remain alive should the Responsible Entity take exception. Remember the company motto: if the impossible is responsible, we've got it covered.

Investigate

Every claim is a new case file. You will be dispatched across 1980s America, from suburban homes to video rental stores. The premises will look familiar. Do not rely on it: rooms and their contents may change between claims. Interview the insured and any witnesses, collect evidence, and establish what you are dealing with. An Entity, or something disturbingly human. Locations, witnesses, incidents, and responsible entities vary with every case.

Cooperate

Four agents. Four specialties. Each role is issued its own equipment and abilities, and no two overlap. Document findings in the shared claim investigation report before you can close a file. Monitor your own condition while you work. An agent who loses control becomes the next threat to the team, and the company considers that an internal matter.

Make decisions

The team renders the final determination: insurance fraud, or a genuine supernatural incident. Approve or deny the claim. Settlement is credited to your branch, and may be reinvested in improved equipment and headquarters for the claims ahead.

Multiplayer horror and satire

Face the horrors of the decade through the wonderfully outdated bureaucracy of an American insurance carrier. A close team comes apart quickly once survival is at stake. Take the lead, calm the agents who are losing their sanity… or route the responsible entity toward them and preserve yourself. Should that prove unexpectedly effective, rest assured: deceased agents remain available to assist. A properly filed claim report is worth a few casualties.
