What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“DUSTBLOOM is a large sandbox co-op survival game made by a solo developer. Balancing automation, terraforming pace and night combat needs real player feedback. Early Access lets us develop the game alongside the community and shape the best version together.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan to remain in Early Access for approximately 6 to 12 months. This timeline may change depending on community feedback and the scope of new features.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“For the full release, we plan to add Steam achievements, Sky Track 2.0 (ghost car, checkpoints, co-op racing), new biome events and boss variants, additional automation machines and an expanded endgame beyond the signal chain. We also plan to finalize co-op out of beta and conclude the story of the 14th team.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The core loop is fully playable in single-player and 1-4 player co-op. Players can build and defend their base, haul ore with the truck, automate production, progress through the five terraforming stages, explore all 8 biomes, clear dungeons and bosses, and fight off nightly skeleton sieges. The full story (24 notes, radio logs and Earth Link messages), the Moon and the meteor-belt expedition, full controller/Steam Deck support and 20 interface languages are in. Online co-op works but carries a "beta" label during Early Access.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes. The Early Access price is lower; we plan to raise it gradually as new content and features ship, with a modest final increase at the full release. Early buyers receive the full version at no extra cost.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“The pinned feedback thread on Steam Discussions opens directly from inside the game (ESC > Feedback; F1 > Support report copies your system and save details). Every update ships with changelogs and the top-voted community suggestions; balance changes are tested on a beta branch first. Community input directly drives bug fixes, balancing and the priority of new features.”

About This Game

You are part of the 15th expedition team sent to a barren, unforgiving red planet. Your mission is clear: survive the harsh environment, automate resource production, and terraform the dead world into a lush, green paradise. But there is a dark secret buried beneath the dust. The 14th team vanished without a trace. It is up to you—and your friends—to uncover their fate through scattered notes, radio logs and messages from Earth while fighting for your own survival.

🌍 Dynamic Terraforming (Five Stages) Experience a true sandbox transformation. You will start in a desolate red desert where survival is a constant struggle. By building machines and increasing your Colony Index, you will change the planet's atmosphere stage by stage. Watch the sky turn blue, witness the first rain, and see the forests return as you reach the final stage, the Living World. Every machine you build physically alters the world around you.

🚚 The Truck: Your Lifeline on the Dust The planet is 2.4 km wide and the rich veins are far from home. Your truck is your hauler, your escape vehicle and your mobile depot: load ore into its bed, drive to distant regions, park it by the depot to unload in seconds. Keep it fueled — run dry in the wild and you'll be calling the emergency tow. Later, build the garage and race it on the neon Sky Track above the clouds.

⚔️ Survive the Nightly Sieges During the day, you build. At night, you fight. As darkness falls, relentless waves of skeleton hordes pour out of the dark valleys and march on your base. Craft powerful swords and bows, deploy shocks and flares to hold the line, and defend your base with light towers. The more you progress, the harder they push back.

🏰 Dungeons, Bosses & Exploration The planet is massive, featuring 8 distinct biomes ranging from glowing caves to treacherous mountains. Hidden across the map are ancient sealed dungeons. Break the seals, avoid deadly spike traps, loot golden chests, and defeat terrifying bosses to claim rare artifacts. You might even stumble upon floating tracks high in the sky!

🤝 1-4 Player Co-op Experience DUSTBLOOM is built from the ground up for seamless multiplayer. Play solo or team up with up to 3 friends using Steam Online Co-op or standard LAN. Share your resources, assign roles (defender, builder, explorer), and experience the entire story and terraforming process together.

Key Features:

  • Deep Automation: Set up resource loops, manage energy, and upgrade your technology tier.

  • Weather Events: Survive dust storms that stall your panels and burn your oxygen outside — and take the meteor-belt expedition high above the clouds.

  • Highly Optimized: Built on Godot 4.7 (OpenGL Compatibility) — runs smoothly on integrated graphics and Steam Deck.

  • Full Controller Support: Play with keyboard or gamepad; Steam Deck ready.

  • Story-Driven Exploration: Piece together the mystery of the doomed 14th team through 24 scattered notes, radio logs and narrated Earth Link messages.
