About This Game

There was an accident

The day the shop moved, the truck carrying the books flipped over. Nobody was hurt, but all 4,344 books ended up jumbled together — and with rain coming down, whatever didn't fit in a box was hauled inside and piled up in front of the counter.

The owner is stuck dealing with it. What's left is a manual, scribbled in a hurry, a page at a time.

Your shift

Twenty-six rows, A through Z. A hundred and eighty-two slots. Every book has a place, and the chart says where. Open a box, fill your bag, walk to the row, and shelve them in order.

Slots with room left over need a bookend. The Z-row isn't for comics at all — it holds the ledgers and member files, sorted by date instead of volume.

Then you clock out

It's a long shift. But once the last book is back where it belongs, the walk home through the rain feels a little different.
