What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Final Night Firefight is being developed around a long-term combination of house building, item synergies, room specialization, and autobattler combat. Early Access will allow players to experience the core game while helping shape its balance, progression, content, and future systems.

The game is being built with scalable systems from the beginning, but many parts of the overall design are still being developed and refined. Community feedback will be particularly valuable for balancing builds, item interactions, room identities, progression, and replayability.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I currently expect Final Night Firefight to remain in Early Access for at least 12 months (Q3 2027). As a solo developer working on the game alongside another job, development will progress at a pace that allows me to properly test, balance, and expand the game rather than rushing toward a fixed release date. The Early Access period will be used to develop additional content, systems, balance, and progression based on both development goals and player feedback. The exact timing of the 1.0 release may change as development progresses.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version will focus on establishing the core Final Night Firefight experience: building and upgrading a house, managing items, specializing rooms, developing different builds, and fighting increasingly challenging opponents.

As development continues, we plan to expand the number of items, room identities, progression systems, build archetypes, enemy builds, and other systems that increase replayability. Some longer-term ideas include deeper item progression, additional room mechanics, and class-based build interactions.

The exact scope and implementation of future features may change during development as we learn from testing and player feedback.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Final Night Firefight is currently a playable prototype with the core house-building and combat infrastructure in place.

Players can build their house, purchase and manage items, upgrade rooms, save their progress, and fight automated opponents using systems such as damage, Burn, Shatter, barricades, Hype/Panic, and combat progression.

The current version is still content and system limited. Several rooms, item pools, progression systems, enemy-generation systems, and other planned features are still being developed. The current project roadmap describes the foundation as substantially developed while identifying content and major gameplay systems that still need expansion.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“I currently do not plan on any price change on full release.

If the price changes during development, I intend to communicate those changes clearly in advance. Our priority is to keep the pricing consistent with the amount of content and value provided by the game at each stage of development.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback will be an important part of development throughout Early Access.

I plan to use player feedback to identify balance problems, confusing mechanics, progression issues, item interactions, and areas where the game needs more depth or clarity. Feedback will help inform future development priorities, while the overall direction of the game will continue to be guided by its core design goals.

I also want to use player builds and gameplay experiences to identify unexpected strategies and interactions that may not appear during internal testing.”

About This Game

Build your house. Arm it with fireworks. Then watch the chaos unfold.

Final Night Firefight is a 2D room-based roguelike auto battler where you build and optimize your own house before sending it into automated battles against rival houses.

Build Your House

  • Place items throughout your house's different rooms.

  • Each room has its own purpose and supports different strategies.

  • Manage limited space and decide which items belong in your build.

  • Specialize your house around powerful combinations and build archetypes.

Build Your Arsenal

  • Collect fireworks, weapons, defenses, and utility items.

  • Find powerful combinations and build around different strategies.

  • Upgrade your items and improve your house as your run progresses.

  • Adapt your build as new options become available.

Watch the Battle

  • Once combat begins, your house fights automatically.

  • Fireworks deal direct damage, apply Burn, trigger Shatter, and interact with other combat systems.

  • Hype and Panic can push your house toward incredible momentum — or complete chaos.

  • Every battle is the ultimate test of the build you created.

Fight Other Players

  • Battle against ghost versions of other players' houses.

  • Your opponents are built by players, and closely match your current rank.

  • Ghost builds are matched around your progression, keeping each run competitive.

  • Climb the rankings and prove your house can survive against the best builds.

Make Every Run Count

  • Shop between battles and decide how to spend your resources.

  • Adapt your build as stronger items become available.

  • Choose when to strengthen your existing arsenal and when to completely change direction.

  • Fight your way through the run until you reach victory — or run out of lives.

Build something powerful. Build something ridiculous. Then see how far it can go.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

Final Night Firefight uses generative AI tools during development to assist with the creation of some pre-generated game artwork, visual assets and music.
