THE LAST LIGHT BEFORE KNOWN SPACE RUNS OUT

You arrived broke and owing Calder for repairs. Now the ship is yours, the tab is open, and the Last Exit Diner is the one neutral light at the edge of a frontier held together by trade lanes, old grudges, and ancient Progenitor gates.

Edge of Known Space is a single-player 2D space-action RPG about keeping a battered ship flying, taking dangerous jobs, and uncovering why rogue Progenitor machines are multiplying across inhabited space.

FLY THE FRONTIER

• Pilot a momentum-driven ship through toroidal combat spaces where position, approach, and escape routes matter.
  
• Fight raiders, rogue firewalls, and self-replicating Progenitor viruses with primary weapons, secondary systems, tractor tools, and consumable repairs.
  
• Use trade lanes to travel between planets and ancient Prog Tech warpgates to cross between star systems.
  
• Form up with Calder, freighters, and mission convoys, then break formation when an ambush turns the route into a battlefield.

THE DINER IS HOME

Every run begins and ends at the Last Exit Diner. Collect payment, repair and refuel, manage your ship and cargo, listen to the jukebox, and choose the next job from the board. The Diner is more than a station: it is a strange fixed point in a network that should not still work.

CHOOSE WHO ARRIVED

Start as a Hauler, Ex-Enforcer, Fugitive, Colonist, Corporate Defector, or Void-Born pilot. Your origin changes your opening resources, first upgrade, and the way Calder and Gary frame your arrival without locking the campaign behind reputation choices.

FOLLOW THE MISSING SIGNAL

Routine work begins to expose a larger theft: pieces of the Last Exit Engine have been scattered through the gate network, and each fragment still changes the space around it. Recover them before corporations, raiders, and the machines behind the gates decide what the Last Exit should become.

Keep the ship moving. Pay the tab. Do not ask Gary why the bathroom door opens where it does.
