What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“SCHWEMMWERK is built around interconnected material-flow, logistics and economic systems. Early Access allows these systems to be tested and balanced together with players while the game remains in active development. Feedback will help us improve usability, performance, progression and the clarity of production processes without changing the core vision of the game.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We currently expect SCHWEMMWERK to remain in Early Access for approximately 18 to 24 months. This is an estimate rather than a fixed deadline and may change depending on development progress and player feedback.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version is planned to include broader progression, a deeper economy with operating costs and financial pressure, additional processing options, more varied contracts and events, improved environments and visual quality, refined onboarding and user interfaces, and further balancing and performance improvements. The exact scope may evolve during Early Access based on testing and player feedback.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current version contains a playable single-player core loop. Players can accept mixed material deliveries, build processing machinery, separate metal, electronic waste, plastic, wood, biomass and mineral fractions, organize physical containers, manage backpressure, fulfil contracts, and save and load their progress. Visuals, animations, balancing, progression, interface elements and the overall amount of content are still being developed and may change.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to offer the game at a lower price during Early Access. The price may increase as substantial systems and content are added and is expected to increase for the full 1.0 release. Exact timing and amounts have not yet been determined.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We plan to gather feedback through Steam Discussions, update announcements, structured playtests, Reddit and Instagram. Bug reports, save-game issues, usability feedback, production-line clarity and economic balancing will be especially valuable. Community feedback may influence priorities and implementation details while the core direction of the game remains consistent.”

About This Game

ABOUT THIS GAME

SCHWEMMWERK: River Reclamation is a single-player recycling and factory management game about turning mixed river debris into valuable raw materials.

Take control of a neglected processing yard near a dam. Accept deliveries, examine their material composition, build processing machinery, organize physical containers and fulfil contracts. Start with manual work and small equipment, then develop a connected industrial processing line.

EVERY KILOGRAM HAS TO GO SOMEWHERE

Materials are more than numbers in an invisible inventory. Outputs require physical containers and available storage space. Full containers, blocked outlets and poorly planned logistics create real backpressure and can stop your entire production line.

BUILD YOUR PROCESSING LINE

Construct and connect intake bunkers, shredders, separators and screening equipment. Recover metal, electronic waste, plastic, wood, biomass and mineral fractions while keeping residual material visible and under control.

CONTROL MATERIAL QUALITY

Material composition, moisture and contamination influence processing and value. Organize your machinery carefully, meet contract requirements and decide which material streams deserve further treatment.

FROM NEGLECTED YARD TO RAW-MATERIAL FACTORY

Begin with a small, worn-down site and gradually transform it into an efficient industrial operation. Improve your processes, expand automation and build a facility capable of handling increasingly demanding deliveries.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

Generative AI-assisted tools were used during development to support programming, localization and store-page text, and the creation or refinement of some visual game assets. All AI-assisted output was reviewed, edited, tested and integrated by the developer. No content is generated by AI during gameplay, and the game does not connect to external AI services.
