The war is over, but bombs still fall across Kogen City. Staying on your feet among them has become the city's most popular sport. Join the club as a rookie who dreams of the pro league, and learn to survive the court.

You don't carry a gun. Grenades drop into the court with their fuses already lit. Pick one up and throw it back, lob it over cover, dash away from the blast, or dive to catch one out of the air. The last one standing wins the round.

GRENADE! is an arcade survival game for 1–4 players online. Friends join with an invite code, and bots fill any empty seats, so you can also play solo. Play with keyboard and mouse or a controller.

Catch, throw, bank, survive

• Every grenade that drops into the court has a random 5–15 second fuse. Picking it up does not stop or reset the countdown.
  
• With something in your hands, the action buttons throw. Empty-handed, the same buttons do a diving catch, so you can grab a grenade out of the air and send it straight back. Carrier fighters and mounted weapons have their own controls.
  
• Flat throws are fast and direct. High lobs clear walls. Bank shots bounce off walls to hit players behind cover.
  
• Miss a catch and you land face-down, helpless for a moment, while every fuse keeps ticking.

Everything runs on a countdown

• A match is three rounds. The highest total score wins.
  
• If a round is still going at 60 seconds, SUDDEN DEATH begins. Grenades fall faster and faster, and blasts get bigger.
  
• Supply crates have their own countdowns, and a nearby explosion can pop them open early.

What's falling onto the court

• Three kinds of grenades: regular ones, sticky ones that stick to walls and floors, and cluster ones that split into smaller bomblets.
  
• BOMB: a heavy explosive with a much bigger blast. You have to carry it over your head, so get rid of it fast.
  
• Barrels catch fire from a blast and pass the explosion along.
  
• Supply crates hold Speed Up, Shield, Fast Charge or Cooldown Cut. Some of them are booby-trapped.

Three courts

• Concrete Dome: a small one-floor court with curved cover, wall slits only grenades fit through, and corner walls for bank shots.
  
• Terrace: a mansion court with an L-shaped second floor, grand staircases, a 45-degree bank corner and a fountain in the middle. The glass railings crack on the first blast and shatter on the second, opening new ways to throw and fall through. Set off a blast in the fountain and nearby players get water all over their screen.
  
• Carrier: an aircraft carrier deck where you can throw the small fighter jets, jump into the side cannons and fight over the tank that rolls out in sudden death.

Make the announcer lose it

Your grenade can set off other grenades, BOMBs, traps and barrels. When a chain takes out an opponent, the kill log shows every link in it. Longer chains and more wall bounces push the announcer higher: SUPER SHOT!, SPECTACULAR!!!!!!, GODLIKE!!!!!!!! Double, triple and quadra kills get their own calls.

Highlight replay

After a round, big plays like chain reactions, multi-kills, ring-outs and kills off two or more wall bounces can play back automatically as ghost replays, each with its own camera angles and slow motion. On the round results screen you can rewatch eliminations and scrub through the timeline. After the final round, the match results show up to three of the best moments.

Online with friends, or solo with bots

Create a room, send the invite code, pick a region and a court, ready up, and vote for a rematch when it's over. Short on players? Fill the empty seats with bots. Each bot plays at its own skill level, and they all read fuse timers, use cover, move between floors and throw grenades back.

Talk without typing

Rounds are short, so there's no time to type. Put up to eight emotes on your emote wheel. They pop up as speech bubbles in the waiting room and during the match.

The club room

In postwar Kogen City, surviving falling explosives went from a neighborhood pastime to a school club sport. Match grenades don't hurt anyone. Getting hit just knocks you out of the round. The club room is your main menu: talk to the other members, pick your character and outfit at the locker, pass captain Marie's club tryout, then head to the lobby.
