Bring character-carrying birds to your Windows desktop. They keep you company while you work or study; pair two birds and crack open their egg to discover a new life formed from the parents' hanzi.

Hanzi Birds That Really Live on Your Desktop

Every Hanzi Bird lives in its own transparent desktop window. Male and female birds have distinct bodies and accessories, while each individual has its own color, eyes, crest, tail, and character. Drag them anywhere, let them wander, or ask them to stay put. Click a bird to hear the Mandarin pronunciation of the character on its back. Send them home to the Hanzi Bird Manor whenever you want to organize your collection.

Pair Characters. Hatch New Meaning.

Bring a male and a female bird together and they will lay an egg. Crack the shell and their characters may combine according to real hanzi structure:

子 + 女 = 好
日 + 月 = 明

The game favors valid, familiar characters. If no combination is available, the child inherits one of its parents' characters. Every hatch adds a new bird to your collection and makes hanzi structure visible.

Build Your Own Hanzi Bird Manor

Collect nine color rarities, from white through gold. Each bird's body, eyes, crest, tail, gender, and generation are recorded. Create rooms, arrange ten resident slots, organize eggs, search collected characters, and open profiles for pinyin, useful words, parents, children, and family history.

The desktop and manor stay connected: drag a desktop bird into the foreground manor window to move it in, or drag a resident out to bring it back to your desktop.

Turn an egg you raised into an offline Bird Friend Code and send it to a friend or share it with the community. They can claim it without an account; the character it will hatch, its rarity, and its size remain intact in their Egg House.

Meet Hanzi Through Four Games

• Hanzi Shooter — switch components to form new characters with enemy hanzi, choose when to dodge or absorb barrages, and climb through weapon tiers.
  
• Hanzi Nonogram — use row and column clues to fill or rule out cells, revealing hanzi and everyday pictures; then hear the reading, check the meaning, or open the dictionary.
  
• Hanzi Mahjong — draw, discard, and claim character-carrying birds to form valid words against AI opponents at several difficulty levels.
  
• Hanzi Crossword — solve intersecting words with definitions and dictionary help while building useful vocabulary.

Draw Hanzi from Number Clues

Read the numbers along every row and column, fill the cells that should hold ink, and cross out the spaces that should remain empty. Hidden hanzi and everyday pictures emerge one cell at a time. From 5×5 introductions to 10×10 and 15×15 challenges, 5,712 fixed puzzles span familiar images and nine graded hanzi levels. Daily 10 adds five Normal and five Hard puzzles each day.

After a clear, compare your pixel result with a color picture or a standard character in a rice grid. Hear the Mandarin reading, check a basic meaning, or open the dictionary. Clear an entire stage or finish all ten daily puzzles to earn a Hanzi Bird egg.

Take Off from Your Desktop

Choose Flight from any desktop bird's menu. The desktop on that monitor is pulled into a starfield, turning the whole screen into a survival battlefield.

Follow the mouse or use the keyboard, then switch between Engage and Evade with one click: unleash automatic multidirectional fire, or stop shooting and raise shields to find a path through dense barrages. Defeated hanzi may split into two valid characters according to their structure. See the character, hear its reading, and charge screen-clearing bombs along the way. Up to four birds from your collection can join as wingmates, healing you, advancing five weapon tiers, and blocking enemy shots while you evade. Set a new survival record.

Two Ways to Make Music

Turn hanzi into voices. Import a MIDI file for a manor room and assign its tracks to different Hanzi Birds. Each bird sings its part with the Mandarin pronunciation of its own character. Keep the MIDI accompaniment for a chorus, or hear the bird voices alone in an a cappella-like arrangement.

The Guqin Room invites you to discover an ancient Chinese instrument by playing it yourself. Freely explore its seven strings, open, stopped, and harmonic tones; follow built-in pieces, or convert a local MIDI track into a guqin solo. History and beginner guidance introduce the instrument through its sound, space, and playing ideas.

Play at Your Own Pace

The interface supports Simplified Chinese, English, Japanese, and Korean, with a separate choice of Simplified or Traditional character data. Pinyin, Mandarin audio, useful words, and a learning dictionary provide context whenever you want it. Whether you want to explore hanzi or simply raise an unusual flock of desktop pets, you can begin at your own pace.
