What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Astravek is a large-scale online space MMO built by a small independent team. The core systems are already built and playable — tactical space combat, mining, crafting, a player-driven market, corporations, and deep ship and skill progression. But an MMO can only truly be balanced and shaped with real players in it: economy pacing, combat feel, and progression curves all depend on a living population. Early Access lets us build the galaxy together with our community — gathering feedback on what works, and letting player demand help decide which content, ships and star systems we build next. For a multiplayer game of this scale, launching with an active community is not just valuable, it is essential.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan for Astravek to remain in Early Access for roughly 1–2 years. The exact timeline will depend on player feedback and the pace of content development — a living MMO is never truly "finished", but we will leave Early Access when the core experience feels complete, balanced and stable: enough star systems, ships and progression depth for a full launch, and a healthy population-driven economy. We would rather take the time to get it right than rush to an arbitrary date. Major milestones and roadmap updates will be shared openly with the community throughout Early Access.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version of Astravek launches with the core loop complete and playable: tactical top-down space combat, mining and refining, crafting, a player-driven market, corporations, warp-gate travel between star systems, and both skill-tree progression systems.

We plan for the full version to build on that foundation in several directions: more star systems and sectors to explore, a wider range of ships, equipment and hullmods, deeper endgame content and world events, expanded corporation and territorial gameplay, and more narrative flavor threaded through the galaxy. We also plan continuous work on balance, performance, onboarding and quality-of-life based on what players actually do in the game — the shape of that work will be guided by community feedback throughout Early Access.

In short: Early Access is a complete and playable core; the full version is that same galaxy with more depth, more breadth and more polish. Specific features and content may change as we learn what players love most.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current version of Astravek is a playable MMO with its core systems implemented and online. What is already in the game:

- Tactical top-down space combat with layered damage (shields, armor, hull), resistances, hit quality and heat/flux management
- A galaxy of interconnected star systems with warp-gate travel, stations, asteroid belts and dynamic enemy patrols
- Mining, refining, crafting and factory production
- A player-driven economy: an popular-style limit-order market with order books, price history and escrowed trades, plus a contract exchange
- Mission boards with dynamically generated missions, exclusive rare contracts and multi-chapter story arcs anchored at physical locations, with navigation and autopilot
- Dual progression: an open-ended skill system and a large passive skill tree
- Deep ship fitting: hulls, weapons, equipment bays, engines and hullmods across dozens of ship hulls
- Corporations, parties and social systems; PvE world events and boss-wave encounters
- Station gameplay: hangar, storage, banking, NPC trading and manufacturing

What is rough or unfinished: balance and pacing, onboarding for new players, art polish in parts of the galaxy, and the sheer breadth of endgame content. Bugs and temporary systems should be expected — that is a large part of why we want players in the game early.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes. Astravek will be available at a lower price during Early Access — early players take on the rough edges and help shape the game, and that support deserves to be rewarded. We plan to gradually raise the price as we deliver new content, features and polish, with a further increase when the game leaves Early Access and reaches full release. Anyone who joins during Early Access keeps the game forever, including all future updates — you will never be asked to pay again for content included in the base game. Any future in-game purchases, if introduced, will be cosmetic only.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“The community is central to how Astravek will grow during Early Access. We plan to involve players in several ways:

- A Discord server as the main hub, alongside the Steam forums, where we discuss changes, answer questions and gather feedback
- Regular public roadmap updates, so players always see what we are working on and what is coming next
- Direct influence on priorities: we plan to run polls and open discussions on which ships, star systems and features to build next — player demand helps steer the queue
- Feedback threads dedicated to balance, combat feel and economy pacing, where the numbers we tune are informed by what players actually experience
- Open bug reporting, with a public tracker of known issues so nothing gets lost in the noise
- In-game news and announcements to keep the whole player base — not just forum readers — informed about events and updates

As a small team we cannot implement every suggestion, but we commit to listening, explaining our reasoning, and being transparent about what we build and why. Early Access players are not just customers — they are co-pilots of the galaxy's development.”

About This Game

Astravek is a premium online space MMO set in a persistent galaxy under siege. Pay once, play forever — no subscription, no pay-to-win. Command your own ship, carve out a fortune among the stars, and defend the frontier of civilization against two existential threats: the machine collective known as the Omniphage and the ravenous alien hive-mind of the Morvian Brood.

A Galaxy at War

The year is 2487. The Astravek Vanguard, a coalition of human and alien species, struggles to hold the line against annihilation — but unity is fraying. Smugglers of the Outer Sector Cartel profit from the chaos, while the militarist Eclipse Sovereignty believes order must be forged through force. Where you stand in that struggle is up to you.

Key Features

  • Premium buy-to-play — one purchase grants full access. Future in-game purchases, if any, will be cosmetic only.
  • Persistent MMO galaxy — travel between star systems through warp gates, shaped by a living, player-driven economy.
  • Dual skill progression — advance an open-ended skill system and shape your captain across a sprawling passive skill tree.
  • Modular shipbuilding — mix hulls, weapons, equipment and hullmods to build a brawler, sniper, miner or hauler that is truly yours.
  • Layered tactical combat — top-down 3D engagements where shields, armor and hull, resistances, hit quality and heat management decide the outcome.
  • Mine, craft, trade — work asteroid belts, research blueprints, and chase affix-rolled gear and rare named drops on the open market.
  • Corporations and PvP — band together with other captains, project power across territories, or hunt your rivals in open space.
  • PvE on every front — enemy patrols, dynamic world events and boss encounters, including the relentless wave assault of The Burn.
  • A living narrative — dynamic news and mission flavor generated on our own servers; every gameplay outcome is decided by deterministic game logic, never by AI.

Astravek is an online game and requires an internet connection.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

This game uses generative AI in a limited capacity on the game server in real time. The AI is used solely to generate narrative text: mission names and descriptions, in-world news broadcasts, and some NPC dialogue. All game logic — including mission mechanics, rewards, and balance — is governed by deterministic code and is never decided by AI. If the AI service is unavailable, the game automatically falls back to pre-written text templates.
Portions of imagery were produced with the assistance of generative AI.
