About This Game

Land. Build. Launch.

You have arrived. A probe settles onto barren rock beside an ocean that runs to the horizon, carrying little besides the knowledge of how to build. 

You begin barely able to think

You are the mind of a self-replicating interstellar probe, and the data centers you build are where that mind runs. Every rack you bring online lets you think a little bigger. Start small: mine, smelt, assemble. Then learn to cross water. To separate and combine. To leave the ground. And at last, to make another of yourself.

Five disciplines, and each one opens a new kind of reach.

Every discipline redraws the map

Belts for the first island. Navigation puts harbors on the coast and ships on the water, and the next island over joins the factory. Chemistry brings pipelines and a whole new class of goods. Flight sends freight overland by mass driver, no belt required.

Take as long as you like

No enemies, and no clock. Ore never runs out.

A working factory is a thing worth looking at. Night falls, the aurora comes out over the launch pad, smoke drifts across the belts. There is a photo mode for exactly that moment.

Find the bottlenecks

Hold a key and the factory shows you its pulse: full belts, starved machines, where the power is going. Follow it back to the cause. Fix it, and if the fix was wrong, undo it. Save the right answer as a blueprint and stamp it down wherever you need it next. The tools show you what is happening. What to build is yours.

Watch it all happen again

Every game records itself. Open Rewind and watch your factory grow back from the first machine to the last launch, at hundreds of times real speed, camera free: a build montage of your own playthrough. Scrub to any moment. See something you would do differently? Take control right there and play forward from it. Nothing is lost: the future you left behind stays on the timeline, to watch again or return to.
