About This Game

Life on the mountain begins with new arrivals

In late summer, 1950, people carrying bedding and wooden crates begin climbing the steps to Yuguiling. Some need a place to live; others are looking for work. You make a living repairing furniture, doors, and windows, and start planning a woodworking shop of your own, right outside your family home.

You thought life would get better if you worked hard and lent a hand. Then three women become part of your days, and you discover that fixing a window and understanding what someone wants to tell you take very different kinds of patience.

Three women, three ways of sharing a life

Ye Shuqin | There is still a desk waiting for you at the schoolhouse

She wants children and adults alike to learn to read, but books, furniture, and her own living expenses all need attention. Repair windows, practice writing, and read letters together. Get to know the determination that keeps her classroom going—and the woman who gets hungry, feels discouraged, and hopes you will visit again after class.

Su Huizhen | Settle the accounts, then make time for dinner together

Harvesting, drying, deliveries, transport costs: her herb business leaves little room for vague arrangements. She is reluctant to owe favors and has plans of her own. Help build drying racks and visit the market with her. Between work and household chores, learn when she needs a hand and when she simply wants you to stay a little longer.

Jiang Yuqing | This time, there is no delivery at the end of the path

She earns her living carrying goods, running errands, and guiding people through the mountains. She knows the distances and when to stop for a rest. But an invitation to walk with her does not always mean another job. From jokes beside the stream to paths chosen for just the two of you, learn to keep pace with her—and make time for the plans you share.

Affection is in the way you answer

Yuguiling is a single-player romance visual novel centered on reading and dialogue choices. Work, eat, and walk together, then face misunderstandings, missed appointments, and moments when the right words are hard to find.

Choices come without affection scores or labels telling you which answer is correct. Asking another question, letting her finish, or rushing to plan her future brings different conversations and reactions. You have a workshop to build; each woman has a life she wants to lead. Growing closer means learning to discuss those plans together.

Game features

  • Three independent romance routes: Follow a shared opening into each woman's work, family, and daily life. All romanceable characters are adults.

  • Three languages: Interface and story text in Traditional Chinese, English, and Japanese.

Content Note

The story begins with everyday life and romance. Its later sections include political oppression, historical violence, loss, and psychological distress. The main characters and their personal histories are fictional, within a setting informed by Taiwan in the 1950s. The game does not adapt the personal experiences of real victims into romance content. Please consider these themes before playing if they may be distressing.
