About This Game

Manasworn is an isometric action RPG in the tradition of Diablo, where every hero is a spellcaster and mana is life.

It is not a roguelite. You build a character and keep building it. Your items, runes, relics and Red Souls belong to your account and are never lost when you die. Death costs you a run, never your character.

Each class grows on its own: Mana Power from fountains and mana stones, extra spell slots, innate abilities. Everything you collect is shared by all three:

  • Over 100 items in four rarities (Common, Rare, Unique, Legendary), each rolled Standard, Exceptional or Perfect

  • Item sets, crafting from salvaged materials

  • 15 runes, 36 runewords and 48 relics

Duplicates salvage themselves and the best roll is kept, so you spend your time fighting, not sorting a bag.

The Mage throws bolts, comets and novas and blinks out of trouble. The Shaman calls storms, fire and ice. The Necromancer raises skeletons, drains the living and fights from behind a wall of the dead. Each class has fifteen spells to unlock and combine into a loadout of your own.

Socket up to five relics into a spell to change how it plays. Runes give passive and active bonuses, and the right runes in the right order form a runeword. Items add their own special bonuses, and full sets add more. It all starts simple and gets deep in the late game.

The campaign opens the other modes one by one. After that, bosses drop the key to the next mode, or you can pay your way in with Red Souls. Everything you earn carries across all five.

  • Campaign: five acts, each in its own land, with quests, side stories, choices that come back later, secrets, crypts and bosses. There is no text and no voice acting. The world and its people tell the story through what they do and the icons they show you. Solo or co-op.

  • Ascent: endless randomized outdoor levels across five biomes. Enraged levels flood the ground with fire, frost, lightning or arcane hazards. Climb as high as you can and post it on the leaderboard. Ascent bosses drop Dungeon keys.

  • Dungeon: randomized indoor runs through ten dungeon styles, from gothic crypts to sandstone vaults and timber mines, with flame vents, arrow volleys and tesla traps. Endless tiers and a leaderboard of their own. Dungeon bosses drop Horde keys.

  • Horde: the one mode that plays like a survivors game. Hold out through 5 to 10 waves of undead, spiders, exploders and more, then kill the boss. Horde bosses drop Demon Battle keys.

  • Demon Battles: the endgame. Five uber demons, each unlocked by beating the last, with double rewards for every kill.

Over 25 bosses and more than 40 enemy types. Bosses change their attacks as their health drops and telegraph what is coming, so you can learn them. Difficulty never caps: every tier you clear unlocks a harder one, with better loot.

Up to four players can play together online, in public or private games, through every mode including the campaign. Loot is personal, so nobody fights over drops, and you can give items to your allies. If you die, your friends can revive you, or you rejoin at the next level.

  • Elite enemies with affixes, mini bosses, and monsters that live their own lives: patrols, feeding, sleeping, factions fighting each other

  • Full controller support, classic mouse and keyboard, and WASD

  • Dynamic lighting, shadows, destructible scenery and a lot of spell effects
