About This Game

Idle Commander is an idle RPG about building a powerful Company and pushing deeper into an ever-growing campaign.

Lead your Commander and recruit a squad of fighters, hunt rare boss recruits, collect increasingly powerful equipment, and develop your Company through interconnected progression systems that continue to matter far beyond the early game.

Progress through thousands of campaign stages and dozens of Realms, each filled with new enemies, bosses, equipment, Blueprint families, and recruitable squad members. Your active squad handles Campaign combat and Expeditions, while reserve Company members can be assigned to Operations that continue producing rewards while you play or while the game is closed.

Loot is a major part of progression. Equipment grows stronger in later Realms, while Blueprint Mastery permanently improves your Company’s ability to produce better future versions of familiar items. Boss equipment offers unique bonuses and deeper Forge progression, while rare Expedition Uniques provide powerful signature effects that can support entirely different builds.

Your Company is more than six characters. Recruit powerful bosses, level and promote them, experiment with different squad compositions, and take advantage of unique personal mechanics and Company-wide traits. Different recruits are designed to support different strategies rather than simply providing larger versions of the same damage bonus.

The Forge lets you develop valuable equipment through combining, absorption, and Succession. Invest heavily into a favorite item, then move that investment onto a stronger future drop instead of being forced to abandon everything you built.

Long-term progression extends far beyond equipment. Enemy Mastery rewards repeated farming, Realm Records track permanent accomplishments, Chronicle milestones guide progression and award Legacy Points, and the Legacy Atlas lets you shape your Company through a large branching progression web.

Company Operations give your reserve roster a purpose. Assign recruits to long-running missions for Gold, Scrap, experience, consumables, Forge supplies, and other resources. Operations continue through long offline periods, improve through repeated use, and can eventually support a large automated supply economy.
