Why Early Access?

“Chessplosion is built around an original chess variant centered on the Giant Pawn and its special rules. Early Access will allow us to gather player feedback to improve game balance, AI difficulty levels, puzzles, online multiplayer, and overall usability. Community feedback will be especially valuable in determining which rules and gameplay situations are the most enjoyable and balanced.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We currently expect Chessplosion to remain in Early Access for approximately 6 to 12 months. This estimate may change depending on community feedback, the adjustments required, and the overall state of the game.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to continue improving the balance of the Giant Pawn rules, artificial intelligence, online multiplayer stability, puzzles, interface, and various quality-of-life features. We also intend to address issues discovered during Early Access and continue improving the overall presentation of the game.

The full version is therefore expected to be a more balanced, stable, and polished version of the experience available during Early Access.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The main systems of Chessplosion are already playable. The game includes the core rules of chess together with the special Giant Pawn mechanics, several AI difficulty levels, local two-player games, online multiplayer, computer-versus-computer mode, puzzles, optional rules, game history with replay functionality, and several visual customization options.

Online multiplayer, balancing, certain aspects of the AI, and the puzzle system are still being tested and refined. Players may therefore encounter bugs and balance changes during Early Access.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to review the price when Chessplosion leaves Early Access to reflect the state and content of the completed version. The price may therefore increase when the full version is released.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We plan to use player feedback to identify issues, improve balancing, and determine which areas of the game require the most attention. Feedback regarding Giant Pawn rules, AI difficulty, puzzles, the interface, and online multiplayer will be especially useful.

We will follow discussions and feedback from the Steam community and plan to adjust the game throughout development when those changes can improve the overall experience.”
