Coming Soon To Early Access

The developers of this game intend to release as a work in progress, developing with the feedback of players.

Note: Games in Early Access are not complete and may or may not change further. If you are not excited to play this game in its current state, then you should wait to see if the game progresses further in development. Learn more

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Rogue Anomaly is a dense tactical shmup, and Early Access is the best way to ship a strong core loop while the later sectors, enemies, and systems still grow. The combat feel, ship handling, and Sector 1–2 structure are already in a place we’re happy to share; EA lets us watch how players build loadouts, pace runs, and push the later content so we can tune difficulty, clarity, and content priorities with real feedback instead of guessing in isolation.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan for Early Access to last roughly 6–12 months, depending on how development and community feedback go. That window may be shorter or longer as content, polish, and stability settle.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan for the full version to expand on what’s already playable: more sector depth and threat variety, fuller end-of-sector / boss moments, richer permanent progression on the Engineering Deck, and continued polish on readability, balance, audio, and controller / Deck support. Early Access focuses on a complete, replayable combat fantasy; post-EA we plan to broaden content, tighten pacing, and push the presentation further without changing the core identity of the game. We are not making fixed promises about exact features or ship dates — plans can shift based on playtest feedback.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current build is a full run loop you can play end to end: Sector 1 (graveyard) and Sector 2 (exposed core) with reactor / jump-gate structure, in-run level-ups and skills, Engineering Deck meta unlocks, keyboard + gamepad support, and Steam Deck–oriented packaging. Later sectors and some boss / finale content are still expanding. Expect balance and presentation changes as we iterate; the foundation is stable enough for meaningful runs and feedback.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to keep pricing straightforward. We are not planning a large price jump just for leaving Early Access. If the scope grows substantially during EA, we may adjust the price gradually as new content ships; any change would be communicated on the store page. Regional pricing will follow Steam’s usual local currency presentation.

”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We plan to use Steam Discussions / announcements for patch notes and feedback, and to watch play reports (especially Deck / controller, balance, and sector pacing). Community input will help prioritize enemies, systems, and clarity issues. We can’t promise every request lands, but player feedback will meaningfully shape the EA roadmap.”

About This Game

Open-Space Drift. Auto-Firing Chaos. Unforgiving Physics.

Handmade pixel art. An original score. Custom sound effects, cut for every blast, breach, and kill. Rogue Anomaly runs that craft through Survivors-scale hordes and physics-driven 360° vector flight. Thrust, drift, and slide through open space while auto-firing weapons spiral out of control — and an all-seeing alien AI hunts whatever is left of you.

An alien civilization once caged the anomaly inside their Dyson sphere. It broke the cage, and their guardian AI with it. A human expedition arrived and was torn apart, left drifting in the silence. Your cryopod hisses open. You are the last ship. Overcharge the dead reactor grid and escape a simulation that is already collapsing.

Newtonian Physics & Pure Vector Control

Momentum does not stop on its own. Burn thrusters to build speed, cut engines to knife through dense asteroid fields, and hold the drift while you aim freely in any direction. Every dodge, turn, and escape is real flight skill.

Survivors-Like Escalation

Corrupted alien drones arrive in waves that only get worse. Build a devastating auto-firing arsenal, lock in lethal skill synergies, and scoop Anomaly Bubbles for short, violent stat overloads.

Overcharge the Grid

This survival loop has a destination. Track four hidden Power Reactors across sprawling sector maps. Hold inside high-voltage charge zones under heavy fire until the central Jump Portal opens — then punch through to the next sector.
