About This Game

A firefight often begins before the target ever appears: where you place your crosshair, whether you catch a sound or a subtle visual change, whether nearby movement consumes all your attention, and whether you can process the information, make a decision and act in time.

Together, these elements shape how players actually react in an FPS. Reaction is more than raw hand speed. It also depends on whether your brain can take in visual and audio information in time, isolate the important cues, and turn a decision into aiming, firing, switching targets or turning away from a flash.

Aim Like a Cat is built around this complete chain of reaction.

The name comes from the way cats respond to change: they notice quickly, stay focused, lock onto a target and act decisively. The game breaks that process into short, repeatable drills, blending in mental challenges involving attention, memory, decision-making, visual tracking and information processing.

Visual and Audio Reactions

Respond to a target appearing, an audio cue, the direction of a sound, or a subtle color shift inside a narrow slit. Different drills test instant reactions, directional judgment and the ability to stay alert through long waits, while recording your in-game reaction time.

Divided Attention and Multitasking

Reactions do not always happen without distractions. Some drills ask you to keep tracking a primary target while watching for fruit in your peripheral vision or identifying the direction of a sound. You must divide your attention across several sources of information and respond in time.

Moving Targets and Dynamic Visual Tracking

Track a small ball that changes direction and speed at random, or identify a target’s location as cups repeatedly swap places and obscure one another. You must keep the target in sight, adapt to changes in motion and stay ready to react at any moment.

Short-Term Visual Memory and Decision-Making

Memorize the opening color combination, watch for fruit while tracking the target, then reconstruct the fruit sequence and identify the starting colors from a pool of candidates. Attention, memory and decision-making overlap within the same run.

Visual Search and Rapid Target Switching

Search the training room for randomly scattered letter targets and shoot them from A to Z. You can also rapidly spot, switch between and aim at multiple moving and peripheral targets.

Turning Reactions into FPS Actions

Practice angle holding, pre-aim, crosshair placement, aiming at moving targets, rapid target switching and turning away from flashes to translate detection and judgment into specific actions. Different weapons, target movement patterns, directions of appearance and flash conditions further change the rhythm of each drill.

Custom Training and Detailed Results

Freely configure the number, position, size and movement of targets, then combine weapons, cover and flash conditions to build training scenarios around your needs.

Depending on the drill, the game displays reaction time, accuracy, mistakes, tracking performance, completion time and personal bests, helping you compare your performance from run to run.

Notice change, stay focused, lock onto the target and act fast—like a cat.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

During development, generative AI tools were used to assist in creating fixed, pre-generated visual content, including brand illustrations, logo variants, Steam store graphics, UI decorative assets and icons, and seamless PBR material textures. All AI-assisted content was created before release and reviewed by the developer. The game does not generate AI content at runtime, does not accept player prompts for AI generation, and does not send player data to an AI service.
