About This Game

PITCHFORK is a first-person dungeon crawler for 1–4 players. Gather your fellow peasants and climb a procedurally generated castle full of puzzles, traps and monsters to slay the local vampire waiting at the top.

CLIMB AN EVER-CHANGING CASTLE

Begin your ascent in the sewers beneath the castle. Fight upwards through three distinct procedurally generated floors filled with monsters, traps and useful objects.

The layout of each floor changes on every attempt. Explore unfamiliar routes, search for items, and find the elevator leading to the next floor. Watch your step—the castle contains considerably more holes than a responsible architect would allow.

USE WHAT YOU FIND, UNTIL IT BREAKS

Combat is a cycle of grabbing what is in front of you and using it. Whether it is a rock, brick, sword, pitchfork or hatchet — if you can loot it, you can use it.

Better gear appears as you climb. Worn gear breaks mid-fight. There are no classes and no permanent loadouts. Nothing is kept for long.

Positioning, timing, heavy attacks and the occasional abuse of a magic wand decide fights. Just be sure not to hit your friends.

KEEP THAT TORCH LIT

Darkness leaves you blind to monsters, traps and sudden drops. Somebody needs to carry the torch, but the peasant lighting the way cannot wield a weapon at the same time.

Stay close, share the light and choose your torchbearer carefully. If they wander off, your options are to follow the screaming, or continue in complete darkness.
