About This Game

Humanity survived the collapse of Earth—but it did not survive united.

Across the Broken Rift, rival descendants of the human diaspora struggle over isolated colonies, failing trade routes, and technology left behind by the mysterious Elders. As a frontier Captain of the Aurelian Directorate, restore your worlds, rebuild your fleets, and decide how far you will go to stop the Veyran Dominion from ruling what remains.

Broken Rift: Dominion is a real-time 4X strategy game connecting empire management, fleet movement, tactical space combat, colony construction, espionage, diplomacy, and ground warfare inside one continuous campaign.

Face Empires That Think—and Remember

A fully offline, locally embedded LLM helps drive every major rival faction. This is not a cloud chatbot attached to a traditional opponent: factions use their own personalities, ambitions, intelligence, and save-persistent history to make connected decisions across the campaign.

  • Pursue an agenda: expand, prepare invasions, reinforce endangered worlds, recover from defeat, or consolidate for the next war.

  • Build an empire: balance power, housing, food, security, laboratories, production, fortifications, and a treasury that cannot fund everything at once.

  • Research a technological future: prioritize weapons, shields, propulsion, sensors, industry, or espionage using real monthly research income.

  • Negotiate in character: pursue trade, pacts, alliances, peace, tribute, threats, insults, and war according to personality, relations, and military strength.

  • Fight in the shadows: conduct reconnaissance, steal research, sabotage assets, disrupt fleets, and defend against hostile agents.

  • Remember the consequences: victories, humiliations, losses, treaties, discoveries, and abandoned plans influence later choices.

The complete model ships inside the game. There is no separate download, cloud inference service, subscription, API key, account requirement, or campaign data sent to an external server. Deterministic simulation rules remain authoritative over costs, legal actions, targeting, combat, and outcomes. If compatible GPU acceleration is unavailable—or if you prefer to disable Smart AI—authored strategic logic takes command so the war can continue.

Command Every Layer of the War

Rule a living frontier

Develop colonies whose populations need power, food, housing, security, and functioning infrastructure. Set tax policy, manage morale, expand research, automate construction priorities, and respond as growing worlds demand more from their cities.

Every colony is a real planetary surface. Place buildings on its top-down grid, expand production, position defensive tanks around the Nexus, and prepare the same terrain for a future invasion.

Move real fleets through real space

Fleets travel across the galaxy instead of teleporting between planets. Order them into deep space, pursue radar contacts, merge task forces, split fleets, transfer tanks near friendly worlds, or intercept an enemy before it reaches a vulnerable colony.

Radar matters. Undiscovered worlds remain unknown, hostile fleets can disappear beyond sensor range, and an unpowered planetary radar leaves a genuine hole in your intelligence network.

Shape battle before the first shot

Space battles begin paused. Arrange ships into Line, Wedge, or Screen formations, place individual vessels inside your deployment zone, assign targets, protect transports, and set fighter posture before pressing Start.

Once combat begins, issue movement and attack orders, pause to reassess, focus fire, or retreat before a bad engagement becomes a destroyed fleet. Fighters harass enemy formations or screen allied capital ships, while transports carry the armor needed to conquer worlds.

Fight for the surface

Winning orbit is only the beginning. A fleet needs tank capacity and embarked ground armor to take a defended colony. Deploy attackers along the outskirts, reposition established defenders, lay specialized mines, and command combined armored forces through a top-down ground assault.

Design the Forces You Need

Configure future production for frigates, destroyers, corvettes, cruisers, transports, orbital stations, fighters, tanks, and dreadnoughts. Combine distinct primary and secondary weapons, six shield tiers, radar arrays, engines, torpedoes, cargo bays, ECM, defensive pods, mine pods, regeneration, and other specialized modules.

Newly commissioned units inherit the design that existed when production began. Better equipment raises the price, so the strongest blueprint is not always the fleet your economy can afford.

The Elder Legacy Campaign

Restore Aurelia's shattered frontier, defend a Trade Federation envoy, assault a Dominion stronghold, conduct covert reconnaissance, and survive the retaliation that follows.

Beyond the frontier lie five Elder caches containing components of a warship beyond anything the modern factions can build. Each operation has a deadline. Reach a cache first and claim its advantage; fail, and the story routes into a harder recovery operation instead of simply ending the campaign.

Between major operations, shorter frontier events feed credits, research, and pressure into the strategic war. Assemble the Elder Warship and the galaxy will see the Directorate as an overwhelming force. Lose it to the Dominion and decide whether humanity's last resistance will surrender—or fight a war it may no longer be able to win.

Skirmish Mode

Create a custom conflict across 20, 50, or 100 planets. Choose your faction, starting treasury, technology level, and participating AI powers. Rival empires research, develop colonies, build fleets and armor, negotiate treaties, form alliances, and pursue a shared victory condition: become the last power standing—or survive as part of the final alliance.
