What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We want to adjust the game balance, improve the ways to play, and add new game modes while listening to feedback from players. We believe that player feedback will be especially valuable for a game like GomoCrush, where many different effects and rules can interact in unexpected ways.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We currently plan to keep GomoCrush in Early Access for approximately one year.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We are planning to implement a Roguelike Mode and online multiplayer during Early Access.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version focuses on the Story Mode and Lab Mode, allowing players to experience the core gameplay of GomoCrush. Players can enjoy matches featuring 38 different special effects and items, while Lab Mode allows them to customize various game rules.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“As we expect the game to gain additional features and content during Early Access, there is a high possibility that the price will increase accordingly.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We plan to actively use feedback from the community to improve GomoCrush throughout Early Access.

Players will be able to share their opinions, suggestions, bug reports, and balance feedback through the Steam Community Hub and discussion forums. We will regularly review this feedback and use it to help determine future balance adjustments, gameplay improvements, bug fixes, and new ideas.

In particular, we would like to hear feedback about the balance between the different special effects and items, the overall game rules, and how enjoyable and understandable the gameplay is. We will also consider suggestions for new ways to play and additional game modes.

We plan to communicate development progress and important changes through Steam announcements and update notes, and explain how player feedback has influenced updates when appropriate.

We cannot guarantee that every suggestion will be implemented, but community feedback will be an important factor in deciding what to improve and which ideas to explore during Early Access.”

About This Game

What happens when you throw punches, black holes, and meteors into Gomoku?

GomoCrush is an unpredictable competitive digital board game based on the classic game of Gomoku.

Getting five stones in a row isn't the only way to win.
You can also attack your opponents and defeat them.

Hidden across the board are Good Effects, Bad Effects, and Chaos Effects. When you place a stone on one of them, its effect is activated.

Heal yourself. Gain an extra turn. Destroy stones. Boost your stats...

But you might also take damage, have your newly placed stone destroyed, or even suddenly die.

And then there are the Chaos Effects that can completely turn the game upside down:

  • Black Hole Incoming — Summons a black hole that destroys nearby stones.

  • Desc Slam Crush — Wipes out stones in an area and deals damage based on the number of your own stones destroyed.

  • Meteor! — Drops a meteor at a random location, destroying stones and temporarily blocking the area.

  • Torus GO — Turns the board into a torus, connecting the top edge to the bottom and the left edge to the right.

  • Status Swap — Swaps all of your stats with those of another player.

With a board full of unknown effects, you have to decide:

Go for the winning chain?
Attack your opponents?
Or take the risk and trigger an unknown effect?

You never know what will happen until the very end.

Use Items

On your turn, you can use Items in addition to placing a stone.

There are 8 different Items, including Fist of Fury, which attacks everyone else, Void Talisman, which removes an effect from the board, and Black & White Dice, which grants you a random status effect.

Combine Effects and Items to create opportunities and turn the game in your favor.

Battle with 2–4 Players

GomoCrush supports matches with up to four players.

Enjoy a tense one-on-one battle, or embrace the chaos of a four-player match.

You can win by achieving the required number of stones in a chain, or by defeating all other players.

You don't even have to complete your winning chain if you can take down your rivals first.

Story Mode

The 11-episode Story Mode lets you learn the rules of GomoCrush while playing through its tutorial-focused matches.

Win each episode to unlock the next one and gradually learn how to play GomoCrush.

Create Your Own Rules with Lab Mode

Want to make the game even more chaotic?
Want to win with only three stones in a row?
Want to use only certain Effects?

You can do all of that in Lab Mode.

Customize a wide variety of rules, including board size, number of players, health, the number of stones required to win, Effect spawn rates, available Effects, status effects, Items, and more.

You can also save your custom rules and give them a name.

Regular Gomoku just isn't quite chaotic enough?

Create your own version of GomoCrush and play it your way.

Get the winning chain.
Defeat your opponents.
Or get swallowed by chaos.

Welcome to GomoCrush.
