Civil Twilight is an isometric extraction horror game about learning the rules of Haejin City's anomalies while carrying out recovery orders.

The anomalies cannot all be handled the same way. They react differently to light, sound, and gunfire. Some rounds hit. Others pass straight through or bounce away. Against something you have never seen before, shooting first may be the wrong answer.

You learn the rules in the field. Live through a new behavior and the agency unlocks a verification record it already had on file. The next time you meet the same thing, you have a better idea whether to avoid it, lure it away, or fight.

An expedition begins at 22:00 and ends at 06:00. Streets connect differently whenever the fog lifts, the exit moves, and stronger anomalies appear toward dawn. Even after finding what the agency asked for, you still have to decide whether to investigate further or start looking for the way out.

Die and you lose everything except your equipped gear. Make it back and you can expand the base, buy equipment, and head to the next coordinates. Play alone or in a team of up to three.

In 19█3, the government sealed Haejin City behind a wall. A year later, agency staff still do not go inside. As a D-class agent, all you receive are coordinates and recovery lists over the radio.

The agency says every order is based on field reports. Sometimes its files mention things you have not reported yet.

2D art, including character illustrations and in-game documents and photographs, was created with image generation tools, then edited and composed by hand.
Some 3D props and environment models were created with a model generation service, then adjusted for the game.
Background music was created with a music generation service. Sound effects are not generated; they are openly licensed recordings that we processed ourselves.
AI coding tools assisted with writing and reviewing code. All final decisions and edits are made by the developer.

Every generated asset was selected and reworked by a person before it went into the game.

This is a horror game containing the following.

Violence. The player uses a handgun and molotovs against supernatural entities.

Depiction is restrained. Hits are shown as small red marks and lines on screen with minor blood spots on the ground, and no bodies remain. The game renders at low resolution with dithering in a late-90s console style, so shapes are never clearly legible.

In-game documents describe bodily transformation in text: a mass of people fused together with faces and limbs on its surface, an entity that ejects tissue from its mouth. These are never shown as images.

Horror presentation. Pursuit, tinnitus, narrowing and color-distorted screens, and brief screen tearing. The game does not use loud startle scares.

Mental state. The protagonist's psychological strain is a core system. At its limit she collapses in place, controls briefly stop responding, and her muttering and breathing are audible.

Drugs. A sedative appears as an item the protagonist takes to steady herself. Taking it is shown on screen, and the narrative includes her being worse off after it wears off. No alcohol, tobacco, or illegal drugs.

Not included. No sexual content, sexual violence, self-harm, suicide, or torture. No profanity.
