About This Game

Master Heroes is a side-scrolling beat-'em-up in the classic 2000s arcade style with Rich Story, great music, grown to kingdom scale: a story campaign about defeating and UNITING ten rival hero-kings, and a battlefield layer of armies you summon, pay and command. Play alone or with up to four on one team — locally and over LAN — across five modes.

The Kingdom of Dreams has fallen

The army that marched on the dark demon Iblees was shattered. The ten strongest heroes of the era survived — and, starved for the power to rival him, each seized a region and crowned himself a petty king. Old King Dawod — once a hero who freed the kingdom himself — prays for a Master Hero: someone who can defeat the ten kings one by one, unite them under a single banner, and take the war back to Iblees. Out of mud and sheep rises Haytham, a shepherd-born wizard-swordsman with a fighting style that never existed before: a magic staff in his left hand and a sword in his right, both at once.

Fight like a hero

Every battle is classic belt-scroll brawling with fighting-game depth. Chain light and strong strings, crouch and air attacks, guard on the ground or in the air, break guards, counter, and double-tap to run. Three meters drive it all: Mana for magic, Energy for physical arts, and Aura — built by dealing and taking damage — that scales your power and visibly wreathes your fighter. Each of the 12 heroes carries five command-input specials and a hidden Ultimate that demands full Aura and full Mana, and spends both.

Unite the ten kings

The Adventure is a 20-chapter campaign across the kingdom's regions. Fight through each hero-king's territory, defeat him at the head of his own army — and unite him: every king you beat joins your banner and becomes playable everywhere in the game. Then cross into the Kingdom of Ashes, free the lands Iblees's nine commanders conquered, and face the demon king himself in a two-form finale. Voiced story scenes carry you between battles; equipment — crowns, helms, charms and fairy companions — drops along the road; and four difficulties climb from Easy to the King of Valor gauntlet.

Raise armies, wage sieges

War is bigger than one hero. Summon regional soldiers to fight beside you, order them with the d-pad — volley, charge, retreat — and mind your war chest: every soldier draws pay on payday, and a man you cannot pay walks away. Then take war to its own modes: pit two full armies against each other on one field, or hold castle walls — gate, battlements and archers — against waves and their siege beasts.

Twelve Hero Stories and hidden forms

Finish the campaign and the kingdom opens its secrets: twelve Hero Stories, one for every hero, set in the years between the lost war and Haytham's rise, each ending before a tyrant of its own. And certain heroes are said to hold a greater form entirely — for those who discover how to reach it.

Five ways to play

Adventure — the campaign for 1–4 players on one team, with waves that scale to the party. VS — 2–4 players, free-for-all or 2v2, best-of-3 across 40 arenas. Tournament — build a bracket and fight your own path through it. Army Battle — two armies, one field. Castle Siege — hold the walls. All of it plays locally (two keyboard layouts plus gamepads, fully remappable) and over LAN, on lockstep netplay that keeps every machine byte-identical.
