About This Game

In Korea, retail investors are called "ants" (개미) — small and weak next to the institutions and big players, yet swarming the market in vast numbers. In ANT SIMULATOR, you are one of them.

From now on, you must survive as a single ant in a brutal financial market. You can take on risk and pour all your money into high-stakes products — or play it safe, manage your portfolio, and use hedging to come through even a bear market unscathed.

Keep one thing in mind: this is a survival simulation. Losing to the market is nothing to be ashamed of. The real question is how you'll read it, attack it, and manage your risk.

Features

ANT SIMULATOR models the following aspects of the Korean stock market.

Amplified Volatility

The market in ANT SIMULATOR is modeled on the real Korean market, but it compresses months of movement into 10–40 days — so volatility is deliberately set higher than reality, letting you live through both bull and bear markets in a single short session.

  • Median daily volatility of the ANTPI: 2.08%

  • Median annualized volatility of the ANTPI: 33.04% (5th–95th percentile: 26.49%–39.04%)

For reference, the real 2025 KOSPI had daily volatility of roughly 0.5–0.7%, or about 8–11% annualized. This game's market swings roughly 3–4× harder than the real one — an intentional design choice so you feel the full drama of the market within a compressed playtime.

(For comparison, the VKOSPI — the volatility the options market expects — stood at about 28.9% at the end of 2025. It's a different kind of metric and not directly comparable, but it helps gauge how volatile this game feels.)

Note: 2026 is not yet over and its volatility has been unusually high, so we use 2025 as the baseline for comparison.

Market Safeguards

  • Circuit Breaker — When prices fall sharply and suddenly, trading is halted temporarily to absorb the shock to the market.

  • Sidecar — Triggers to cushion immediate shocks, curbing the chaos that sharp futures swings can spill into the spot market.

  • Volatility Interruption (VI) — When a single stock's price spikes or plunges in an instant, that stock briefly switches to single-price auction trading to cool the volatility down.

And more

  • Sector cycle ignition

  • Leading-stock drift

  • News/event gaps and lingering news pressure

  • Foreign-investor momentum

  • Institutional value & cycle judgment

  • Retail attention / FOMO

  • Order impact and general price impact

What's the Same, and What's Different, from the Real Market

ANT SIMULATOR is modeled on the real stock market, but it's deliberately built to be approachable and to play like a game.

  • Global markets — Their direction is linked to the domestic index, but only the core linkage is kept; other variables are compressed.

  • Exchange rates & foreign investors — FX and foreign flows are intertwined, with the relationship simplified for readability.

  • Oil & airlines — Rising oil prices weigh on airlines and travel; secondary cost and demand variables are kept restrained.

  • Corporate metrics — PER, PBR, ROE and more are used — but financial structures are generated virtually and at random.

  • Investor flows — You watch retail, institutional, and foreign flows, though the full real order book is not reproduced.

  • Market safeguards — VI, circuit breakers, and the like are active, tuned to the compressed timescale.

  • Volatility — Rallies, declines, and sudden crashes all occur, compressing months of movement into 10–40 days.

  • Information — You make decisions from multiple indicators, but real-world opacity such as disinformation and disclosure delays is mostly removed.

We also deliberately reduced the proportion of NPC retail investors, to reinforce your position as a lone ant.

This game is a virtual simulation for educational and entertainment purposes. It does not provide investment advice or real returns.

Engine & Measured Data

The engine behind ANT SIMULATOR is precisely designed and tuned, yet built to be very lightweight — and purpose-built for the Korean market. It moves in ways that are controllable at the level of overall supply and demand, yet unpredictable in the moment. So — sorry, chart-analysis fans — the charts here are best read purely as the result of how the market moved. (That's exactly what makes them honest!)

Correlations

Macro-correlation bar chart

This market is full of interlocking relationships. When oil rises, airlines and travel are pressured; when global indices climb, the domestic market follows; exchange rates and foreign flows react in turn. These relationships were measured across 500 simulations, and their directions match the real market.

A Different Market Every Time — With a Consistent Distribution

We used Monte Carlo analysis to tune and balance the engine. Across 500 independent runs, a different market emerged every time — yet gather up the final index values and they trace the stable distribution above (mean 2510, standard deviation 61.9). In other words: any single game is unpredictable, but the market as a whole holds consistent statistical properties.

Day-to-day movement, however, is another story. Daily returns aren't normally distributed — they have fat tails, so most days are calm, but every so often the market crashes or spikes far harder than a normal distribution would ever predict. Hard to forecast, and that's what makes it thrilling — and infuriating.

Now It's Your Turn

The market is always cold and unpredictable. But in ANT SIMULATOR, even that uncertainty becomes something you can turn into strategy. Don't just leave it to luck — read the flow of the data, manage your risk, and sometimes bet boldly, living the fierce life of an ant investor. When the market shakes you, what will you choose?

Launch ANT SIMULATOR now, and prove your own survival strategy in a brutal financial market.
