About This Game

On June 25th, 1950, North Korean artillery thundered along the 38th Parallel. Tanks swept past rice paddies and jet fighters screamed overhead, transforming the “Land of the Morning Calm” into a battlefield and bringing the world perilously close to a Third World War.

In Strategic Command: Korea, take command of the United Nations or Communist powers in an epic struggle for control of the Korean Peninsula. From the desperate defence of the Pusan Perimeter to the frozen battlefields of the Chosin Reservoir, every decision you make can alter the course of the first major conflict of the Cold War.

FIGHT ACROSS OUR MOST DETAILED MAP YET

Direct the entire war at regimental scale across a vast map comprising nearly 40,000 hexes, each representing approximately 7 km. New terrain features, including Rice Fields, Bridges and Paved Airfields, create fresh tactical challenges and opportunities.

Exploit sweeping armoured breakthroughs, fight bitter battles through mountains and cities, and adapt as mobile warfare gives way to a grinding struggle of fortified positions and trench lines.

COMMAND NEW COLD WAR UNITS

As Strategic Command enters the 1950s, a new generation of military technology takes the field.

Deploy Self-Propelled Artillery to bombard the enemy while keeping pace with your advance. Use Forward Air Control units to conduct reconnaissance without risking interception. Send Helicopters to recover casualties from the battlefield.

Existing formations also gain new capabilities. Equip Fighters with Ground Attack Weapons, or invest in Mobility upgrades to move infantry and armour across the battlefield faster than ever before.

STRIKE FROM THE SHADOWS

A reworked mobilisation system allows countries such as Communist China and the USSR to enter the conflict in secret. Hidden units can evade both ground and aerial reconnaissance, setting the stage for dramatic ambushes and devastating surprise offensives.

As tensions rise, the new Escalation system can turn territory once considered a protected sanctuary into another dangerous front, expanding the war and raising the stakes for every nation involved.

SHAPE THE COURSE OF THE WAR

A wide range of events and strategic decisions allows you to influence how the conflict unfolds.

Enforce a naval blockade with your warships. Establish offshore partisan bases to disrupt enemy supply lines. Construct airfields to extend the operational range of your aircraft, or demolish bridges to delay an advancing army.

You will also need to contend with Korea’s unforgiving climate, including droughts, floods and frostbite. And if conventional weapons are not enough, you may even face the ultimate decision: whether to deploy the atomic bomb.
