Build domino chains as big and silly as you like, then give them a push. Domino VR is a VR physics sandbox with real-scale dominoes, contraptions, 24 puzzle levels, a level editor and Workshop sharing. Rebuilt from scratch: the road to 1.0 starts here.

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Domino VR has been rebuilt from scratch, and this update is the result. Before calling it 1.0 we want a few weeks of feedback from real players on real headsets: how the controls feel, which puzzles are too easy or too hard, and anything that breaks.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“About a month. 1.0 follows once the feedback from this update is in.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to use these weeks for fixes and polish based on your feedback, tuned puzzles and a properly tested multiplayer mode, then release 1.0.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Feature complete: the sandbox, 24 puzzle levels, the level editor, saves, Steam Workshop worlds, achievements, the native Steam Frame version and experimental multiplayer are all in. Expect some rough edges while we polish.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price will go up when the game leaves Early Access. Buy it now for the Early Access price.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Tell us what you think in the Steam discussions or a review. We read everything and plan to tune the puzzles and controls based on it. Share your best builds on the Steam Workshop.”

About This Game

Experience that "nooooo, they're falling!" feeling all over again.

Domino VR is a sandbox about one thing: building domino chains and watching them fall. Place dominoes one by one or lay out long lines in one go. Bend them around corners, run them up stairs and over bridges, and let a ball roll down a ramp to start the next part. Then push the first one and hope you didn't knock it over by accident. (You will.)

This is the big rebuild. Everything is new: physics, controls, art, sound, puzzle levels and a level editor. It is still in Early Access for a few weeks while we gather your feedback, then 1.0 follows.

Build

  • Real-scale dominoes: sized and weighted like the real thing, with a preview before you place. Grab them, throw them, undo the last one.
  • Thousands at once: up to 20,000 dominoes per world on PC. When a giant chain gets heavy, the simulation slows down a little instead of stuttering.
  • Contraptions: ramps and balls, bridges, stairs and a bell; a crane, a rotator, a pendulum and a seesaw catapult; a conveyor belt, a fan, a bounce pad, a domino blaster and a finish gate.
  • Placing car: it drives off and lays a line of dominoes behind it.
  • Tools on your wrist: colour, weld (glue dominoes together or pin them in mid-air) and destroy, plus props, undo and the menu.
  • World controls: gravity, slow motion, pause, player size and reset.

Play

  • 24 puzzle levels: three short tutorials, then 21 puzzles. Ring the bell, climb the stairs, cross gaps, sweep, swing and catapult. Each level has a domino budget and up to three stars.
  • Level editor: build your own puzzle levels in the game, test them and beat them before you save.
  • Sandbox worlds: the Workshop, a cosy room with a big table, a rug, shelves and toys; Forest Island, with a stone plaza and a meadow; and a main menu floating in space, with zero-g dominoes to play with.

Share

  • Save and load worlds: as many save slots as you like.
  • Steam Workshop: share your worlds, and browse, subscribe to and load other people's creations.
  • Build together (experimental): host a world for friends through Steam, or join one from your friends list.

Capture

  • Spectator camera: show its view on your desktop for friends watching.
  • Photo camera: photos land in your Pictures folder and your Steam screenshots.
  • Camera paths: fly a smooth camera along your chain for videos.

Comfort

  • Teleport or smooth movement, and snap or smooth turning.
  • Vignette, seated mode and a left-handed mode.
  • Separate volume sliders and adjustable haptics.

Headsets

  • PC VR through OpenXR: Valve Index, HTC Vive, Meta Quest via Link/Air Link/Steam Link, and other OpenXR headsets with tracked controllers.
  • Steam Frame: runs natively on the headset, no PC needed (up to 5,000 dominoes per world).

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

The current version of the game was (re)built by one developer with help from an AI coding assistant, which helped write code and scripts that create the game’s low-poly models and sound effects. Everything was designed and reviewed by me. No AI-generated images, voices or music, and no AI content is generated during play.

System Requirements
