About This Game

Pixel Nightshift: The Vesta Protocol

A pixel art psychological horror short story.

Step into the shoes of a night shift operator at Vesta Robotics. Dressed in isolation, your job is simple: process shipments, manage terminal requests, and clear daily quotas. However, as the nights progress, subtle anomalies begin to breach your routine.

The Night Shift

Distant echoes fill the empty facility. Inside, it is just you, the terminal, and endless shipping crates waiting to be dispatched.

A Rigid Routine

Read orders at the terminal, collect parts from the dark warehouse, pack the cargo, and load the delivery truck. A structured routine that slowly begins to fracture.

System Verification

Before starting each shift, you must complete security verifications at the terminal. Nine unique protocol mini games designed to test your focus, though the system grows increasingly erratic.

The Unraveling

Shifted boxes, flickering lights, and figures appearing in the dark. As the facility glitches, small choices ripple forward toward one of two distinct endings.

Key Features

  • Ten atmospheric night shifts with escalating psychological tension

  • Nine distinct verification mini games with unique mechanics

  • Handcrafted 320x180 pixel art with classic CRT terminal aesthetics

  • Two separate endings shaped by your choices

  • A focused 30 to 45 minute narrative experience

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

Generative AI tools were used during development to create pre-rendered assets, including pixel art visuals (which were manually edited and refined), character voiceovers, and code scripts. All AI-assisted content was generated prior to release and is static within the game files. No content is generated dynamically or live during gameplay.

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

This game contains mild pixel-art violence, psychological horror elements, jump scares, flashing lights, and disturbing atmospheric themes. Depictions of violence are non-realistic and feature robotic/mechanical destruction (sparks, wires, electrical glitches) rather than explicit human gore or physical bodily harm. There is no nudity, sexual content, drug/alcohol abuse, or self-harm.
