What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Coraline is an episodic visual novel. The prologue is currently available to play, with additional episodes planned as development continues.

Early Access allows players to experience the beginning of the story while giving us the opportunity to gather feedback on the story, characters, gameplay mechanics, and technical aspects of the game as we work on future episodes.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect Coraline to remain in Early Access for approximately 2–3 years while we work on additional episodes and continue developing the main story.

This is an estimate and may change depending on the development process.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to gradually add 10 new episodes that will continue the main story of Coraline. Each episode is planned to offer approximately 1–2 hours of reading, depending on the player's reading speed and playstyle.

Future episodes are planned to continue the story and introduce new scenes, characters, choices, and interactions as the narrative develops.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current version includes a fully playable prologue that introduces Coraline, the characters, the premise of the story, and the core gameplay mechanics.

Coraline is a visual novel featuring choices that affect Coraline's relationships with other characters and some of her interactions with them. Certain scenes also feature point-and-click elements that allow players to explore the environment and interact with objects.

The following 10 episodes are not included in the current version and are planned to be added gradually as development continues.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We currently do not plan to change the price of Coralina after it leaves Early Access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We plan to follow player feedback, suggestions, and bug reports through the Steam Discussions. Community feedback will help us identify technical issues and improve the overall player experience as we continue developing future episodes.”

About This Game

Coraline is a detective visual novel about a young woman who becomes drawn into her father’s investigation.

Coraline wakes up in a hospital room. The harsh white light overhead blinds her, pain makes every movement difficult, and doctors surround her, preparing her for surgery. Anesthesia. A breath. And then, darkness again.

But this is only the beginning.

Gradually, Coraline finds herself drawn deeper and deeper into her father’s investigation. Together with her, you’ll uncover what is happening, learn more about the people around her, and discover what lies behind the events of this story.
