Game Overview：

(The story takes place in Japan in 2025 and 2001.)

Two obscure underground idols are stuck working with their “archrivals,” performing for a handful of fans at a small live house.

When one of their videos unexpectedly goes viral, their long-awaited opportunity finally arrives. But on the very day their dream comes true, a falling stage apparatus takes it all away.

They wake up in 2001, in an alternate world where the idol industry has yet to take shape. Their lives begin again.

Ten girls with different personalities and stories endure countless evaluations and a brutal final selection, eventually forming the five-member idol group “Quintic.”

In front of the cameras, they are inseparable friends. Behind them, they are coworkers who constantly argue and give each other the silent treatment.

“Are they really that close?”

“Are they really like that in private?”

“She’s just that kind of person, right?”

Their public personas blur with their true selves, making it impossible to tell what is real.

Prejudice, arrogance, ambition, and contradiction. Youth, reality, and choices shaped by the capital market intertwine with the growth and bonds of five women.

They learn to work with people they dislike, make choices between their careers and personal feelings, and struggle between their own needs, the team’s demands, dreams, and reality—all on their way to becoming a “national idol group.”

How do we learn to communicate through conflict and misunderstanding? And what becomes of the feelings and contradictions hidden beneath labels?

As “Sweet Friends,” players observe their lives and make choices at key moments.

As the story progresses, retro forums and a blog unlock, offering different perspectives on the characters through posts from the era.

*The game features different romantic and emotional possibilities for its characters. Among the five main characters are explicitly heterosexual characters, an asexual character with little interest in romance, and characters who share deep bonds but do not wish to define their relationships. Romance is not the main focus; the story centers on the five women’s idol careers and personal growth. Among them, two heterosexual characters have implied sexual activity described through text (no explicit imagery). Other characters have had ambiguous or intimate interactions with people of the opposite sex, but no sexual activity is depicted.
