Coming Soon To Early Access

The developers of this game intend to release as a work in progress, developing with the feedback of players.

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“TOWERPUNK is a deep tower-building sim with a narrative running through it, built by a solo developer. Early Access ensures the simulation is fun and solid from day one, while giving me the time and player feedback I need to write and script the core campaign experience.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Early Access is planned for 9–12 months. This range gives me the time I need to develop the narrative-driven campaign and implement player feedback across gameplay systems. I intend to localize the game as well, and would prefer to leave Early Access when it's genuinely finished rather than ship to a deadline.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version ships the full simulation, the tutorial, and the event system, with the art, audio, and interface all in place. The 1.0 version adds the complete narrative structure that the event system exists to carry: a campaign with a real, driving story arc and an ending that reflects the decisions you made. It also brings UI and narrative localization, more content, and balance driven by player feedback.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Playable start to finish. Towers run from one hundred to five hundred floors, with two hundred as the standard size, and the simulation is built and tested at the top of that range. Everything under it is complete and stable: five strata of residents, production and compute chains, transit, utilities, threats, research, governance, and the economy behind all of it. The tutorial and the event system are in, so there is guidance when you start and situations to answer as you grow.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, the price will increase moderately when TOWERPUNK leaves Early Access, reflecting the campaign, localization, and content added along the way. Buying in during Early Access means paying less for a game that keeps growing.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Directly. I read the Steam forums, reviews, and Discord myself, and Early Access exists so that what players find hard, confusing, or unbalanced changes the build. With one person building the game, there is nothing between your feedback and the code: bug reports and balance notes go straight into the work, and feature requests and narrative direction get discussed openly. I'll post regular development updates on what I'm working on and what came out of player feedback.”

About This Game

Deployed on an empty plot by an insolvent megacorp, you build upward, house and satisfy a population, circulate people and goods, refine scrap into advanced components, and decide what kind of intelligence rules from the top.

You do not simply manage your tower. You are the tower.

Build

Build upward, stacking thousands of rooms up to five hundred floors tall. Your tower grows vertically as you fit homes, workplaces, utilities, lobbies, and more into one cohesive structure.

Populate

Populate the tower with residents across five social strata, from nulls near ground level to sovereigns above the clouds. Each rung of the social ladder brings new needs and new demands. Watch residents and visitors move through their daily routines, and place your rooms so that a satisfied population is also a working one.

Circulate

Circulate people and goods through your tower on elevators, trains, and conveyors, and keep power, water, and waste flowing underneath them. No tower stands alone: external terminals link you to the city outside and feed straight into your own transit network.

Refine

Refine scrap and waste into progressively more advanced components. Every stratum opens a new chain, and every chain feeds the machine-mind at the top of your tower.

Decide

Decide what kind of machine-mind you become. Side with the people who live beneath you, or accelerate toward the singularity. Every choice, large and small, shifts the tower's alignment and the story it tells about progress in a dark cyberpunk future.

Build upward. Become the tower.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

All art, music, and sound in TOWERPUNK are original to this project. None of it is derived from generative media models. AI coding assistants were used during development to help write the game's source code and drafts of some interface text, reviewed by the developer. All narrative and creative writing is authored by the developer.

System Requirements

    Minimum:
    • OS: Windows 10 64-bit
    • Processor: Quad-core x86-64, 2.5 GHz (Intel Core i5-6500 / AMD FX-8350)
    • Memory: 8 GB RAM
    • Graphics: Vulkan 1.0 compatible GPU with 2 GB VRAM (NVIDIA GTX 1050 / AMD RX 560 / Intel Iris Xe)
    • Storage: 1 GB available space
    • Sound Card: Any Windows-compatible audio device
    • Additional Notes: Requires a Vulkan-capable GPU with current graphics drivers. Memory use scales with tower height, but even a full 500-floor tower stays around 2 GB, so 8 GB is comfortable at every size.
    Recommended:
    • OS: Windows 11 64-bit
    • Processor: 6-core x86-64 (Intel Core i5-10400 / AMD Ryzen 5 3600)
    • Memory: 16 GB RAM
    • Graphics: Dedicated GPU with 4 GB VRAM (NVIDIA GTX 1660 / AMD RX 5500 XT)
    • Storage: 1 GB available space
    • Sound Card: Any Windows-compatible audio device
    • Additional Notes: Headroom for the largest towers with other applications open. A full 500-floor tower uses around 2 GB RAM and 500 MB VRAM; the recommended spec is for comfort at scale, not a requirement.
