Keep your game running on one monitor while you use the other. It keeps playing, keeps its sound and stays on the screen you picked, borderless and fitted, while you browse, chat or watch. Set a game up once and it is applied every launch.

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Games, displays and controllers behave differently across PC setups. We want feedback from people using Second Screen Gaming with their own games and hardware to guide compatibility work, controller improvements and the everyday setup experience. Early Access lets that feedback shape development while the existing tools are available to use.”

Approximately how long will this software be in Early Access?

“We expect Second Screen Gaming to be in Early Access for roughly six months. This is an estimate, not a fixed date: it depends on the compatibility and usability issues reported across different games and hardware. We plan to leave Early Access once the main issues in the supported workflows are addressed and the app's compatibility limits are clearly documented, and we will announce any change to this estimate in Steam update posts.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to use community reports to broaden tested game compatibility, improve the reliability and usability of controller assistance, and refine setup, saved configurations and recovery. The scope may change as we learn from feedback. These are development goals, not guarantees that a particular game, controller or feature will be supported.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Second Screen Gaming is a Windows 11, 64-bit utility with borderless window placement, monitor selection, per-game saved settings, cursor controls, background audio options and optional runtime assists. Features depend on each game's behavior and available settings. Controller assistance is experimental; routing targets compatible 64-bit XInput games. Some games still pause, mute or capture the cursor when focus changes. Exclusive fullscreen, hosted game windows and anti-cheat restrictions can limit features. Optional controller assistance loads a helper into the game and may conflict with anti-cheat or a game's terms of service. Please purchase based on the features and limitations described here, rather than expecting universal compatibility.”

Will this software be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to offer a lower base price during Early Access and increase it at full release. Existing owners will keep access to the same product when it leaves Early Access without needing to buy it again.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Please share game compatibility reports, reproducible bugs and suggestions through the Steam community discussions or the Request game support form on our website. Tell us the game, the behavior you expected, what happened, your app version and any relevant display or controller details. We plan to use these reports to prioritize fixes and compatibility testing, and to explain changes in Steam update posts. A report does not guarantee support for a particular game or a delivery date.”

About This Software

Your game on one screen. Your desktop on the other.

Looking up a guide, answering a message, or using another app should not mean rearranging your gaming desk. Second Screen Gaming brings screen placement, background behavior, audio, and cursor controls together in one Windows utility.

Built for dual-monitor and multi-monitor PC setups. Choose a running game, place it on a display, and save its settings for later.

Put your game on the monitor you choose

  • Borderless window placement: Move a windowed game to your chosen screen and fit it without window borders.
  • Always on top: Keep the game visible above other windows when you need it.
  • Virtual desktops: Keep its window visible as you switch Windows desktops.
  • Remember the right display: Save a game's destination screen. If that display is disconnected, the app waits for it instead of choosing a different one.

Keep games running when you switch apps

Click into another window and the game keeps running and playing sound. Second Screen Gaming uses the game's own settings where it has them, and runtime assists where it does not.
  • Background audio: Stop games from going quiet when you switch away.
  • Audio output: Send a game's sound to the speakers on its screen.
  • Cursor control: Keep the mouse on the game's screen, allow it across screens, or leave the game's default behavior.

Set it up once, adjust it when you need to

Keep per-game configurations, edit saved settings while a game is closed, and save desk setups for later. Configuration edits are backed up. Turn enabled fixes off from the app.

Runtime assists can stay in the tray after you close the main window. Steam shows the app as running while its tray agent is active; Exit from the tray icon to stop it and to receive updates. Starting with Windows is optional. Choose a light or dark theme, or follow Windows.

Getting started

  1. Launch your game in windowed mode.
  2. Open Second Screen Gaming and refresh the game list.
  3. Select the game and its destination screen, then choose the settings you want.

Compatibility and optional controller assistance

Support varies by game and engine. Some games still pause, mute, capture the cursor, or open a menu when they lose focus. Exclusive fullscreen and some hosted game windows cannot be fitted from outside.

Experimental controller assistance supports selected Windows controller APIs. Controller routing targets compatible 64-bit XInput games and requires confirmation when the controller setup changes. It may not work with every game or device.

Controller assistance loads a helper into the running game. It may conflict with anti-cheat or a game's terms of service and can risk account restrictions. Known anti-cheat blocks restricted assists; detection is not a guarantee of safety. The app does not bypass anti-cheat. Game executables and assets are not modified.

Windows 11, 64-bit. Keyboard and mouse required. The app interface is in English. Games and additional displays are not included. No separate product account or subscription is required.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

Some store artwork and text were created with the help of AI tools. The app does not use AI while it runs.
