Homestead: Deckbuilding Academy is a single-player strategy game centered on building synergies, homestead management, regional exploration and real-time automatic combat.

Start with a few humble buildings and use cards found through clearing and exploration to expand your home. Plan your layout, assign residents to work, and combine houses, workshops and other facilities to shape your own way of growing.

Your homestead and your squad grow together. Buildings provide abilities for your soldiers, and upgrades strengthen those abilities. Your squad can then venture farther and bring new discoveries home. Build, explore, and build again: the strength for your next expedition comes from the home you create.

Build a home from the ruins

Send soldiers to clear land and ruins, finding cards for construction and development. Choose where to build, place your buildings, then invest in construction and upgrades. Expand your first few houses into a homestead of homes, workshops and facilities, with room for more residents.

Combine buildings for greater returns

Place a windmill between two production buildings to benefit both, then upgrade key buildings to raise their output multipliers. Where you build, which buildings are neighbors, and what you upgrade first all affect your home's efficiency. Find combinations that reinforce one another and get more from each resident's work.

Give everyone a place to work

Give residents a home and a job. At dawn, they leave for fields, workshops and construction sites; at night, they return home to rest. Advance turns at your own pace to complete production and construction. Watch resources accumulate and buildings grow as your plans become a thriving homestead.

Grow your home, strengthen your squad

Buildings also provide soldier configuration cards. Combine abilities for your soldiers and upgrade the buildings that supply them, turning investment at home into strength in battle. As your homestead expands, train more soldiers and take a growing squad into exploration and defense. Combat unfolds automatically in real time; prepare your buildings and abilities before facing the enemy.

Leave the meadow for forests, wetlands and highlands. Each region offers new sites to clear, enemies to face and buildings to discover, along with hostile settlements to challenge. Fit your discoveries into your home, find new building combinations, and set out with a stronger squad to face increasingly powerful invaders.
