Character Introductions

Faculty

Lin Zhixia — Protagonist

Name can be changed.

The heroine of the story. Gentle and reserved, she finds it difficult to refuse requests from her elders.

As a result, immediately after graduation, she goes from being a temporary teacher to an acting homeroom teacher. Unexpectedly, however, she also has a remarkably tenacious side.

Xia Lan

A beautiful and fashionable English teacher notorious among students for her strict teaching methods.

She is rumored to be the daughter of a director at a major conglomerate, though some troubling rumors also seem to follow her...

Zhou Ziheng

The overly familiar head of the Chinese teaching and research group.

He likes interacting with students as though they were his peers. At the same time, his inability to read the room often leaves the people around him frustrated.

Students

Zhang Xiaoman

The diligent and high-achieving class monitor of Class 3.

Her serious, meticulous personality has made her a favorite among some teachers—and a target of resentment among some classmates.

After failing an exam, she was never seen again.

Chen Jiashu

The cheerful and outgoing vice class monitor of Class 3.

His habit of lending a hand whenever he passes someone in need has made him unusually popular at school. He knows exactly how to make others like him.

After the parent-teacher conference, the injuries on his body become increasingly obvious.

Xu Tingsui

A girl with thoroughly average grades and an equally unremarkable presence.

She is not good at talking about herself and cannot name anything she particularly likes.

After the complaint incident, the light in her eyes gradually begins to fade.

Gu Xiao

A delinquent student whose seat and grades have both remained firmly at the back for years.

He does not seem bothered by this at all and has even made astonishing claims such as, “Being in Class 3 is merely the minimum requirement for meeting me.”

It seems he may also have the power to decide whether a rookie teacher stays or leaves.

Yan Ning

A starry-eyed girl who believes in love and destiny.

Obsessed with retro fashion, she uses it to proclaim how special she is. She never considers the consequences of her actions.

Sometimes, she can be spotted ■■ near the school’s back gate.

Cheng Zheng

An energetic athlete whose body always moves half a beat faster than his brain.

Straightforward and deeply committed to his idea of loyalty, he frequently ends up at the police station because of it.

If no one intervenes, you may one day find him in the hospital.

📚 Your First Time Teaching Begins with Lesson Planning

Teaching, communication, administration—as well as steadily mounting pressure and an increasingly empty wallet.

Plan your weekly actions, prepare for your next class, and improve your teaching abilities. Attend department meetings, complete school duties, and remember to leave yourself a little room to breathe.

Your choices will gradually shape the teaching career that belongs to you alone.

⏱️ Being a Homeroom Teacher Means More Than Teaching

Exams, tardiness, absence requests, class officers, parent-teacher conferences, school events, and emergencies that can happen at any moment.

Manage Grade 10, Class 3, and make judgment calls through incidents both large and small.

Some situations are governed by clear school rules. Others have no correct answer.

🗣️ Get to Know Your Students

Grade 10, Class 3 has thirty students.

High-achieving honor students, unremarkable wallflowers, and troublemakers who give every teacher a headache—as you spend more time together, you will come to know the people beyond their grades and unlock their individual stories.

A single conversation, a home visit, or even a casual remark made during class may influence the choices they make later.

🏠 A Teacher’s Life Continues After Class

Phone messages, parent group chats, conversations with colleagues, and requests for help from students...

Even after leaving the classroom, you are still a teacher.

Along the way, you will meet colleagues with very different personalities and form relationships with them through office life, department activities, and everyday interactions.

🏫 What Kind of Teacher Do You Want to Become?

Improve your students’ grades, maintain discipline, earn the approval of their parents, protect your students—or simply try to remember every one of their names.

When the semester ends, you may still have no definitive answer to what makes a “good teacher.”

But the students of Grade 10, Class 3 will remember that you once stood at the front of their classroom.
