Sol, 2205. Seventeen years into the civil war, Earth and Mars are still fighting.

INSPIRED BY THE SPACE SHOOTERS OF THE DOS ERA

Strike Wings is a top-down space combat game built from the ground up as an homage to the DOS classics. Fly a fighter through a fleet battle, give orders to your wingmen, or take command from a destroyer's bridge.

Your ship carries momentum, so you can turn and fire while drifting past an enemy. Battles run on the same simulation whether you're in the cockpit or watching the AI fight. Weapons and engines can fail, damaged ships can catch fire, and surviving a fight sometimes means limping back to a carrier.

WHAT'S IN THE DEMO

• FLIGHT SCHOOL: four voiced lessons covering flight, combat and squadron commands.
  
• 17 battles, from small dogfights to carrier battles, boarding operations and refugee escorts. Command a Cyclone destroyer in COMMAND DECK, or fight to keep your fleet's reinforcements coming in PROVING GROUND.
  
• The first four missions of THE OUTER DARK, a voiced story campaign following the Terran side of the war.
  
• Seven selectable ships: Reaper, Talon, Lancer, Vanguard, Paladin, Pyre and Cataclysm, with additional ships flown in specific missions.
  
• CO-OP PLAY: two-player local split-screen co-op support.
  
• QUICK PLAY, generated RANDOM BATTLES and 1V1 DUEL
  
• SIMULATE: choose a battle and watch the AI fly both sides.
  
• A limited FIGHTER FORGE, where you can try building a custom fighter.
  
• THE GARAGE, with unlockable pilot plates and titles, and the ship section of THE ENCYCLOPEDIA.

Choose from seven AI difficulty levels and direct your squadron through a quick command wheel. Rescue ejected pilots, deal with hull breaches and ammunition fires, and keep an eye on the approaching storm while you're fighting.

IN THE FULL GAME

Continue THE OUTER DARK and play two more voiced story campaigns. Explore a much larger ship roster and scenario collection, develop your custom fighters further, and build your own battles in the editor.

The full game also includes Steam multiplayer for up to 24 pilots, an optional ranked ladder, LAN play and modes such as capture the flag. In solo play, build defenses and fly alongside them in BASTION, face endless waves in ONSLAUGHT, or fight a persistent war across 16 systems in WAR ROOM, where lost ships stay lost and territory changes hands.

Close to all in-game content - graphics (procedural vector rendering), gameplay, text, and sounds - is hand-authored. AI generated content was used in opt-out campaign slides, and dogtag/plate art, and for improving the onboard AI ships "warning system"; which is an AI so it should sound like an AI. Both are non-essential to the game and can be turned off in the config settings to respect player wishes against AI content. The game does not generate any content with AI at runtime and does not connect to any AI service.
