About This Demo

The Unburied King is dead, and he will not rest. Night after night his legion carries him down the road toward home — and beneath every field the procession crosses, the sleeping dead wake and fall in behind it. You are not there to see him home. You are there to end him before he reaches the gate.

Build by day, hold the line by night

Day and night take turns. By daylight you split up — gather, scout, build — raising palisades, arrow towers and campfires while the light lasts; resources are short, and every wall you raise is a wall you chose over another. At nightfall the tide closes in, and you pull your line together and hold the walls side by side. The captain does not lead from the back: you fight in the line yourself; your militia fights beside you on its own, and you carry a single horn — the Assault Order — for the moment the whole line must surge.

Survive to dawn, and the night is yours

Inside every walking corpse smoulders an ember stolen from the sun — that fire is what keeps it moving through the dark. Hold until sunrise and the morning light takes the fire back inch by inch, and the dead crumble into the ground where they stand. There is no half-time and no retreat — only daybreak, or the dark.

Co-op without the friction

Play alone, or keep the vigil with up to three friends — invite them straight through Steam and they drop into your night. Difficulty scales with the size of your party, and if anyone drops, the game pauses — nobody gets left behind. And nobody hides in the back row: war cries, charges, arrow storms and frost orbs all belong to the front line. Five classes stand with the militia on the first wall.

A roguelite that fights back

Every dawn and every level-up deals a hand of cards — lineup, skills, equipment, elements — so no two vigils play alike. Between fights, build your company in the keep:

  • The Armory: named blades and relics in five tiers, claimed on the battlefield and kept forever across your account. Build around set bonds — the Hearth Oath, the Red-Moon Hunt, the Siege Compact — matched pieces fight harder together.

  • Doctrine: before each battle, choose an elite branch for every militia line — spear wall or halberdiers, scatterguns or long rifles.

  • Ascension: remake your captain at the altar of the honored dead — Templar, Blood Warlord, Arrowstorm Lord... five classes, ten paths, each with a signature ultimate of its own.

  • Dawn sigils and the vigil chronicle: every night you hold earns a sigil that unlocks new tactics, fortifications and rewards — each run reaches deeper than the last.

  • The Quartermaster: one of the dawn cards, making every morning's supply bonus 40% larger.

Every night counts

Keep up to three captains per class, each growing on their own — bring your seasoned knight to the wall while a friend levels a fresh mage beside you. Even if the keep falls, everything you banked at the last dawn is written into that captain's record. Every vigil, won or lost, leaves you stronger.

Nights you will remember

  • The line breaks: a bone-bound colossus wakes on the third night and comes straight for your gate. Hold against its siege line, seal the breaches, and bring it down together before it beats your walls flat.

  • The blood-moon hunt: the tide comes from every direction while named bounty-heads prowl the dark — hunt them for sealed war-stores, and cut through the horde to free trapped survivors who will fight at your side.

  • The last march: the earth splits open before the altar, and the king who refused burial rises to fight you himself.

  • The endless night: a vigil with no end, where dawn never truly comes. Climb the vigil ranks, take the boons offered along the way, and see how many nights your line can hold.

Down the funeral road

Three chapters, twelve battlefields — from a border outpost, along the fog-bound funeral road, to the old barrows under the blood moon. Every battlefield brings its own tide and its own siege; the story is carried by Holt, your second-in-command, and the survivors you rescue along the way (text in English, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese and Russian). You will face mourners whose low chant shields the dead around them, raiders that come over your walls, and the engines of the procession — plague catapults and ballistae of bone.
Top-down pixel art, grim folk horror, a blood moon overhead. Raise your company, hold until dawn — and finish the funeral the dead began.
Wishlist Unburied — hold the line until daybreak.

What's in the demo

A complete 35-60 minute slice: the first nights at the border outpost, the blood-moon hunt, the bone colossus siege, and an endless vigil to see how long you can hold. Solo or full 1-4 player co-op — the demo is not cut down for multiplayer.
