Power is bought from the gods and paid for with their attention. Every gift you take makes you stronger and the shore deadlier. The debt never resets. Stack a broken build, evolve your arsenal, and see how far you get before what you owe comes to collect.

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“The Poseidon chapter is finished, and I would rather find out what strangers do with it than keep guessing. Every balance number in this game currently traces back to one player and an automated bot, which is not a strong enough foundation to build two more chapters on. Early Access puts it in the hands of people who will break it in ways I cannot predict, and those runs are what should decide the shape of Hades and Zeus.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Roughly twelve to eighteen months. The Poseidon chapter is complete at launch. Early Access ends when the Hades and Zeus chapters are finished to the same standard.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to add two further chapters, Hades and Zeus, each with its own shore, hazards, named monsters and boss, along with more weapons and evolutions built around them. We also plan to keep expanding the build variety in the existing chapter. Beyond that, we intend to let Early Access players' runs guide what changes, rather than deciding it all up front.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Complete and playable from start to finish. One full chapter: eight weapons with evolutions, gear, relics, a meta progression hall, a three phase boss, and an endless Hell mode after him. This is a finished chapter rather than a vertical slice, and it is balanced to be beaten.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to raise the price modestly when the full version releases, to reflect the additional chapters. Anyone who buys during Early Access receives all of that content at no extra cost.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Through Discord and a public roadmap. The balance in this game has so far been tuned against a very small sample, so Early Access players' runs will be the first real data it has ever had, and I expect it to contradict things I currently believe. I plan to read the Steam forums and Discord daily, post what is being changed and why, and be specific about which feedback drove which change.”

About This Game

The gods do not give. They lend.

Twenty minutes on a drowned Greek shore. The horde never stops arriving and you never press attack: you choose what you carry and where you stand, and the shore decides the rest.

THE MOIRAI OFFER TERMS

Between the fighting, the Fates deal. Ares floods your weapons with red tide. Hermes turns the ground behind you to fire. Athena answers every broken barrier with a volley of spears. Every one of them is strictly stronger than refusing.

Every one of them costs Hubris, and Hubris is not spent. It is owed. It follows you to the end of the run, and Poseidon is waiting there with a longer memory than you have.

BUILD SOMETHING BROKEN

Sixteen Arms and sixteen Relics, six slots each, so a run is a commitment rather than a collection. Max a weapon, carry the Relic it was made for, and crack open a boss chest: the pair becomes a Mythic Form, and stacking is multiplicative and is not balanced away. If you find the combination that deletes a boss in ten seconds, that is yours. It was found on purpose and it was kept on purpose.

THREE WHO WALK IT

Nikandros holds the line and hits harder the more of them close in. Ione is fast and fragile and rewards distance. Eudora marks the crowd and lets the ground do the killing.

THE DROWNED SHORE

Sixteen kinds of drowned thing, and they do not all simply walk at you. The Peltast holds his distance and throws. The Brine Bull rears back, commits to a line, and cannot take it back. Set them alight and they burn as they come. Catch them in a Gorgon's stare and they stop being a problem and start being scenery.

Four crowned things arrive on the clock. Poseidon arrives at twenty minutes with three phases and every point of Hubris you agreed to. Put him down and the Aftertide opens, where the ramp is exponential and staying forever is not an option.

WHAT COMES NEXT

SALTWRATH launches in Early Access with the Poseidon chapter complete. Hades and Zeus are the published roadmap, not a maybe. See the Early Access section below for the honest version of that plan.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

Some of SALTWRATH's audio and store artwork was created using generative AI tools and then edited by hand. The music and sound effects were generated with Suno, then trimmed, mixed and levelled manually before being used in the game. Some store page and capsule artwork was generated with an AI image tool and edited before use.

The game itself does not use generative AI while you play. Nothing is generated live during a run, no content changes between playthroughs because of AI, and no player input is ever sent to an AI service.
