Constantinople, 1453. The free opening of an illustrated historical novel: play a janissary — born Greek, taken as a boy — from his first sight of the walls to the morning four ships humiliated an army. About 45 minutes. One of four testimonies, and the city remembers all of them.

About This Demo

One testimony. Three more are waiting.

You were born Greek and taken as a boy. Now you are camped outside the city your grandmother prayed toward, close enough to count the stones in its wall.

1453: Fall of Constantinople is a choice-driven, illustrated historical novel about the fifty-three days that changed a city's fate — told from both sides of the walls, in four interlocking stories. This free demo is the Janissary's opening: four chapters, about 45 minutes, ending on the worst morning the army had.

In the demo

  • The Janissary's first four chapters — the march to the City, the silence after the first shot, the stockade at night, and the men you eat beside.
  • Choices the story keeps — what you decide here is remembered, and in the full game it crosses into the other three testimonies.
  • What the sources say — after every chapter the game shows its cards: eyewitness diary, later chronicle, or legend born centuries after.

It stops on April 20

Four ships fight their way through the whole Ottoman fleet while the army watches from the shore, and win. The demo ends there — and then shows you where this account was being written down half a century later, and by whom.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

1453 contains pre-generated AI content: in-game illustrations and short ambient video clips created with generative image/video tools, curated and edited under human art direction and reviewed for historical accuracy. The narrative text is human–AI co-written and human-edited under the author's direction; the game design is the author's. No AI content is generated at runtime.

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

1453: Fall of Constantinople Demo contains the first four chapters of the janissary's testimony, told in prose and painted illustration. Its mature content is the siege itself: realistic depictions of medieval warfare and its casualties - bombardment, a night assault on a stockade, wounds and corpses - described in text and shown in still art, including a scene in which the player character may take a life. It also contains mild profanity and the ordinary use of alcohol and tobacco in an army camp. There is no sexual content, no nudity, and no interactive gore. The demo runs about 45 minutes.
