Coming Soon To Early Access

The developers of this game intend to release as a work in progress, developing with the feedback of players.

Note: Games in Early Access are not complete and may or may not change further. If you are not excited to play this game in its current state, then you should wait to see if the game progresses further in development. Learn more

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Timberline Factory is a physics-based sawmill and automation simulation developed by a solo indie developer. Because logs move dynamically with real physics across conveyor belts, saws, and processing machines, getting the balance and mechanical flow right is crucial. Early Access allows me to work directly with players to test complex conveyor layouts, fine-tune daily maintenance costs, and improve the overall gameplay loop based on real community feedback.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The game is planned to remain in Early Access for approximately 6 to 12 months. This timeframe may change depending on community feedback, the scope of requested features, and overall game balance.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“For the full version, I plan to expand the core factory experience with additional wood types, more complex processing chains, and new automation machinery. I also aim to include more research upgrades, additional contract objectives, and overall polish for the physics and quality-of-life features based on community suggestions.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version features a fully playable core gameplay loop of physics-based timber processing and sawmill management. Players can build and customize conveyor belts, place saws and debarkers, unlock automated lines like the Headrig, and stack finished lumber using the BoardStacker. Key systems such as machine wear, repairs, research upgrades, and dynamic objectives are already implemented and functional.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, the price is planned to increase moderately upon the full release to reflect the additional content, features, and overall polish added throughout the Early Access period.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I plan to actively gather feedback and bug reports through the Steam Discussion Forums and community channels. Because physics-based automation can create unexpected edge cases and bottlenecks, player experience is invaluable. I will closely monitor discussions regarding machine balance, maintenance costs, and conveyor mechanics to directly shape future updates and improvements.”

About This Game

REAL PHYSICS, REAL LOGISTICS

Forget static items moving on rails. In Timberline Factory, every log is a fully physics-based object. They have weight, they roll, and they can cause bottlenecks if your production line isn't optimized. Designing a smooth flow of timber is a tactical challenge that rewards precision.

BUILD & AUTOMATE

Construct complex sawmill layouts from scratch. Place conveyors, debarkers, and advanced sawing units. As your factory grows, unlock automated systems like the Headrig Line and the BoardStacker to transform raw timber into profitable board packages.

WEAR AND TEAR

Industrial machines are loud and powerful, but they aren't invincible. Sawdust and heavy use will wear down your equipment. Monitor machine health, manage repair costs, and invest in upgrades like Titanium Blades to minimize downtime and keep the wood flowing.

THE BIOMASS CYCLE

Nothing goes to waste. Use the new Biomass Power Plant to process bark and wood scraps into green energy. This closed-loop system helps you manage waste products while lowering your facility’s operating costs.

THE SOUND OF INDUSTRY

Hear the power of your sawmill. The game features authentic audio recordings of real industrial machinery. From the deep thud of a log hitting a conveyor to the high-pitched scream of a circular saw, the soundscape is designed to be as tactile as the physics.

Do you have the economic and technical skill to manage your sawmill efficiently and turn a profit every single day?
