About This Game

Nurek (1982) is a horror game in which you take on the role of a diver who has been kidnapped by an organization that is using you to find some ancient artifacts. They have tried to obtain these artifacts in the same way but have failed, and they will not rest until they have them and place them on a statue—which was the reason for launching this operation.

FEATURES

-Claustrophobic areas await you—explore them and find what’s been requested.

-You’ll have only what you need for the job: oxygen and the guts to face what your flashlight’s beam can’t illuminate.

-It’s probably best not to know the name of the government agency—it doesn’t matter anyway.

-Don’t get used to being alone during the adventure.

THE GAMEPLAY

Once you wake up, you’ll find what will be your only human contact and means of communication with anyone else: the government organization that brought you hundreds of meters below the sea somewhere in the world against your will. Once you receive instructions, you’ll have access to a hatch that will lead you to a place few dare to venture beyond to complete the task.

To speed things up, you’ll already have your diving suit on and a flashlight; you’ll also have a device to detect the electromagnetic waves emitted by the objects you’re searching for, but that device was lost at the bottom of the sea or is believed to have been destroyed.

Don’t worry about the fish down there—due to the water pressure, it’s impossible for them to be down there.

THE STORY

It is the 1980s. The communist government has been obsessed with controlling the population, food supplies, and land and marine resources, which has led to missions both within and outside the country. During explorations led by a private company assigned to the “Planetary Well-being” department, six golden humanoid figures were discovered, all in a specific posture, with one standing out among them. This led the company in charge to notify high-ranking government officials, giving rise to Operation “Nurek.”

This operation was tasked with investigating the statues, which were found near a cave system hundreds of meters below the sea. The explorations have been unsuccessful, resulting in the loss of personnel and causing environmental anomalies as the mission progresses.

This has led to various disappearances both within and outside the country under the command of the operation, but the only thing that matters so far is finding the objects that match what the statues are meant to hold.
