What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“FOX7: City Of Fighters already has a substantial playable foundation, but we want the final game to be shaped by players rather than developing the remaining systems in isolation.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We currently expect FOX7: City Of Fighters to remain in Early Access for roughly 6–12 months.

That is an estimate rather than a fixed deadline. The exact length will depend on development progress and, importantly, what we learn from players during Early Access. We would rather continue improving systems that need further work than rush the game out of Early Access to meet an arbitrary date.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version contains the core game and its major gameplay structure, but several areas will continue to evolve before we consider FOX7: City Of Fighters complete.

During Early Access we plan to further develop enemy variety and fighting identities so opponents and cities demand different tactical approaches; continue balancing fighter progression, card progression, rewards, economy and difficulty; improve enemy behaviour and combat pacing; refine encounters, missions and venue progression; expand and adjust move, deck and reward variety where needed; and continue developing the presentation and individuality of districts and locations throughout the world.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current version includes the ten-city world and forty-district campaign structure, explorable locations and combat venues, tactical turn-based card combat, deck building, enemy encounters and bosses, missions and progression, fighter development, card progression, training, money and reputation systems”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Not likely”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We plan to use the Steam Community Hub and player feedback to identify issues with combat balance, difficulty, progression, individual cards and fighting styles, enemy behaviour, missions, locations and quality-of-life features.

Feedback will not be limited to bug reports. We want players to tell us which builds and strategies they enjoy, which opponents are too similar or frustrating, where progression feels wrong, which locations need more personality, and which systems deserve further expansion.”

About This Game

About This Game

FOX7: City of Fighters is a strategic fighting RPG set across a massive world of gyms, bars, homes, workplaces, prisons, casinos, criminal hideouts and arenas.

Explore 10 distinct cities, each with its own fighters, missions, music, atmosphere and local madness. Every city is divided into districts packed with places to visit, opportunities to chase and trouble to stumble directly into.

Train at the gym. Recover at the hospital. Head home. Get a tattoo. Wind up in another bar fight.

Enter shady alleys, pawn shops, prisons, gang hideouts and underground fight pits. Push into elite territory to discover casinos, spas, live shows, VIP fighter clubs, crime syndicates, major arenas and a unique local venue built around the identity of each city.

Build your fighter through boxing, kickboxing, wrestling, grappling and MMA. Decide whether you want to keep the fight standing, drag it to the ground or become dangerous wherever the battle goes.

Combat uses a strategic card system built around attacks, defence, movement, combinations, takedowns, ground control and submissions.

Become an MMA champion.

Build a relentless wrestler.

Turn yourself into a dangerous kickboxer.

Master technical boxing.

Or become the dirty fighter who understands that a nearby pint glass is not decoration.

Street fights do not come with referees, rules or neatly padded cages. Use the environment. Grab a pool cue. Reach for the pint glass. Use a nearby fire extinguisher when subtlety has completely left the building.

And yes, pocket sand is a legitimate tactical option.

Outside combat, every city gives you places to train, heal, earn money, explore and progress through the wider FOX7 universe.

The entire world is backed by hundreds of original music tracks, giving every city its own radio station, sound and personality.

10 cities. Hundreds of locations. Hundreds of original tracks. Multiple fighting styles. One enormous FOX7 world.

Start by fighting in the streets.

Build your name.

Master your style.

Then walk into a sold-out arena and become king of the cage.
