Genetic Survivors combines real-time autobattles with hands-on genetic engineering and roguelite progression. Lead a team of Critters through escalating rounds of combat against the forces of nature, then breed the survivors to create the next generation. Recombine genomes, pursue powerful mutations, and turn unpredictable inheritance into an evolutionary advantage.

Engineer Powerful Synergies

Genes shape both what each Critter can do and how well it can do it. Combine attribute genes with a dozens of unique skill genes to create powerful interactions within individual genomes. Then assemble a team whose combat roles, buffs, and abilities synergize with one another.

Bend the Rules of Inheritance

Breeding follows the rules of crossover, assortment, dominance, and mutation... but you don’t have to accept nature’s first answer!

Choose a geneticist with a unique starting ability, then acquire Research Breakthroughs that let you favor desirable traits, prevent crossovers, rearrange genes, or even clone a single unit. Turn biological chaos into a calculated advantage.

Study, Deploy, and Adapt

Battles play out automatically, but preparation is in your hands. Inspect the entire enemy formation, study each unit’s stats, skills, and combat role, then reposition your Critters to exploit the matchup.

Different combat roles determined by a Critter's genes create a web of targeting priorities and counters across the battlefield. When combat ends, defeated units are permanently lost and only the survivors return to the breeding pool. Learn from every loss and drive the direction of your team's evolution to prepare for the challenges ahead.

Grow a Persistent Colony

Your research outlives every run. Maintain a persistent colony in your Lab, breed specimens under controlled conditions, and complete genetic challenges to make physiological discoveries that permanently enhance your units across your combat runs.

Curate which skill genes can appear, set their dominance order, and choose your team’s starting abilities before each expedition. A failed run might end one experiment... but not your entire research program.
