Why Early Access?

“We are rebuilding The Battle of Olympus as a handcrafted Steam remake by its original creators. Early Access allows us to share the game while development is active, gather feedback from players, and continue improving the controls, balance, pixel art, UI, sound, and overall PC experience.

We also want players who remember the original game, as well as new players discovering it for the first time, to be part of the revival process.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We currently expect the game to remain in Early Access for approximately 12 to 18 months.

This schedule may change depending on development progress, player feedback, and the amount of polish, content, and localization work needed before the full release.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version is planned to preserve the original 8-bit game balance as closely as possible, while beginning the visual remake process by redrawing some stages and character graphics.

For the full version, we plan to redraw all graphics, improve the overall visuals and animations, and add new visual effects. In addition to the original game balance, we also plan to add new play options such as Easy Mode, Normal Mode, and speedrun-oriented features.

The final content and scope may evolve based on development progress and player feedback.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is currently in active development. We are rebuilding the core systems, recreating the pixel art, and preparing the main gameplay structure for the Early Access release.

At the start of Early Access, we plan for players to be able to play through all stages of the original 8-bit version of The Battle of Olympus, all the way to the ending, with the original game balance preserved.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We expect the price to increase when the game leaves Early Access, or as the amount of completed content and polish increases.

The exact pricing may vary by region and will be decided closer to each major development milestone.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Players can share feedback through the Steam Community, reviews, and other official channels. We are especially interested in feedback about controls, difficulty balance, readability, bugs, UI, and the overall feel of the remake.

We will use player feedback to help prioritize improvements, polish the game, and decide which areas need the most attention before the full release.”
