Starport Tycoon is a single-player space trading and management simulation. You start with a single spaceport on a planet, one rust bucket and limited funds. From there you build a galaxy-wide trading network

Every planet offers distinct resources, production capabilities and demands. Watch stock levels, prices and demand. Secure landing rights and transport goods where they are needed. Profitable routes will help your business grow! Badly planned flights and cargo bays will reduce your profits or might even result in losses.

Your competitors pursue similar goals. They will compete for landing rights, operate their own spaceports and they will create their own trade routes. Also every now and then a pirate will try to make your life harder than it already is.

• Secure Landing Rights - Request access to new planets and tap into promising markets before your competitors get there first.

• Plan Profitable Routes - Choose stopovers, compare supply and demand and optimally load your ship at every stage of the route.

• Trade Numerous Goods - Transport resources, manufactured goods and specialized products between worlds inhabited by different species.

• Develop Spaceports - Invest in storage capacity, industry and many other buildings to boost production, trade, growth and recreation.

• Expand Your Fleet - Buy bigger ships and upgrade your fleet with weapons, shields, engines and extras.

• Hold Your Own Against the Competition - Monitor the expansion of the other businesses and secure planets, routes and profits.

• Deal With Pirate Encounters - Flee, fight or surrender your cargo when encountering hostile pirates.
