What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“At this stage I'm confident you will have a good time with Door Runners. But I need your feedback to help tune the game's difficulty and balance.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Around a year and a half of early access.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“During Early Access, I plan to expand and develop the game based on how players interact with its core social gameplay. This may include additional gameplay variations, new room and door scenarios, adjustments to the rules and pacing, improvements to the multiplayer and voice-chat experience, and additional content that fits the direction the community enjoys most.

The exact scope may change during development, as I want player feedback to help determine which ideas are worth expanding and which are better changed or removed.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Door Runners is currently fully playable from start to finish with its core multiplayer gameplay implemented. Players can join multiplayer matches, communicate through voice chat, progress through rooms by choosing between multiple doors, and compete to survive until the end.

The core gameplay described in the About This Game section is already implemented and playable. Early Access will be used to further develop the experience with additional content, gameplay variations, balancing, rule adjustments, and other changes based on player feedback.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“I don't plan on changing the price.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback will play an important role in deciding how Door Runners develops during Early Access. I plan to pay close attention to feedback about the core rules, pacing, balance, social interactions, room and door variations, and ideas for additional content.

Player feedback may directly influence which mechanics are expanded, changed, added, or removed during development. Players will be able to share feedback through the Steam Community discussions, and I also plan to use player reactions and gameplay experiences to help determine the direction of future updates.”

About This Game

A 4–10 player online social deduction party game. Every room has four doors. Only one is safe. Everyone else is just guessing — and hoping they're guessing with the right people.

One player already knows which door is safe. They just can't walk through it alone. Every round is a live negotiation: convince the room, dodge suspicion, and get through that door before someone locks in the wrong guess and takes you down with them.

Once three or more Runners are still standing, a second role enters the game: the Witness. They know who the Knower is — and everyone else knows who the Witness is. Now there are two people worth watching, and neither of them wants to be caught looking.

Everything runs through live proximity voice chat. Team up, trade information, throw someone under the bus — whatever it takes to lock in the right door before the timer runs out.

Survive enough rounds and the game strips down to its final two doors and its final two Runners. No more crowd to hide in. No more Witness to blame. Just you, one rival, and a door you can't take back.
